A real Z car, none of this bloated pigfat shit with 1980s dashboards we have now.

2.5L turbo 6 would be a nice start if they can keep the weight under 3000lb. (I never thought I'd say that. 3000 fucking lb is considered light today)

I really want a new celica GT4. Toyota needs to step it up. Doesn't even need to be a celica. Just something turbo, with a real AWD system, and with a manual transmission.
>>
>>16277688
I feel like Toyota would have to make another MR2 before GM would resurrect Pontiac and revive the Fiero.
>>
>>16277917
They could revive it as a Chevy and call it the Corvair for all I care. I just want a new MR GM econobox with a 4 cylinder or a V6.
>>
>>16277910
Well technically, they can do it. They have all the parts. The Auris/Corolla iM has an AWD variant IIRC, and they have that new 2.0L Turbo in the Lexus IS200t and NX200t. All they really need is a 6 speed manual and a nice DCT automatic because that would sell. If there has to be an automatic (and knowing the buying public, there does have to be one), I'd prefer it be a DCT

Just bought a 2011...jesus fugg, this thing is a beast.

260hp that feels like 360hp. RWD. Body on frame. Feels like you're driving a goddamn tank everywhere. Bash plates all over the bottom, you can run over anything and not give a fuck. Washable interior with no stupid carpets to get shitty and gross. Manual transmission if you want it. Proper 4WD with a dedicated transfer case and shifter. Guys getting +600,000km on their engines without a rebuild.

North Americans are fucking retarded, this thing is 10x better in design and build quality than a Wrangler, yet it failed to sell at even a fraction of the rate that Jeeps did.

Why are you so retarded North America? Why can't you recognize an amazing vehicle when you see it?

The Engine is very similar (but slightly different) and is effectively the same. The turbo is smaller on the XT. The XT has the breakable 5-speed. The STi has THREE glorious limited slip differentials which I'm guessing the XT does not have. I've had an STi; I want an XT.

So, basically, Protege = basic EU-spec 323F with low power and Protege5 = EU-spec 323F Sportive with higher power? Fucking hell with their market variations and renaming, cluttered shit. Too bad Yurop didn't have Protege5 for sale, kinda jelly.

>>16282806
Oh right, those were beasts and quite rare.
>>
>>16282836
Nah nah nah, 323=protege, 323F = Protege5
The only high power model is the Mazdaspeed Protege which only came in 4 doors
Every engine in the Protege lineup was a FS in one form or another, but no ZE model

This is an EU-market 323F, sold in other parts of the world as the Astina. I think this gen was based on the BJ 323/Protege.
>>
>>16282884
Oh, nah definitely didn't have one of those, or the Lantis, only the base style 4 and 5 door hatch
>>
>>16282853
Oh fuck, right, totally forgot US got hatch variants as well. I always thought US only had base Protege and Protege5 was something like Mazdaspeed. So, with my mistakes, I want US-spec Mazdaspeed Protege in the end. Wonder why they didn't make hatch Mazdaspeed. Fucking Yurop with their shitty low-powered variants. I bet there's more BMW M3 than non-M3 in US.

>328i is standart for US market

Shitto. But that's because BMW is expensive to maintain, so Japs are probably mostly powerful variants.

Is it true you can swap the Kizashi engines in them?
>>
>>16284603

Dunno why you would. Most Zuki engines are low compression, have decently strong internals and like boost.
>>
>>16284603
Well the Kizashi engine is just a stroked version of the SX4 2.0L, so yea. Bolts right in.
Personally, I'd forgo the swap and just install a turbo kit.
http://roadracemotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31_48_33&products_id=345
There's even a kit for the automatic cars, but it's $100 more expensive.

From what I found on the Suzuki forums, you can modify forged Honda B-series pistons to work.
>>
This is what i dream of coming back.
>>
>>16284619
But there was two versions of the J20, the A (non-vvti) and B(vvti), was there any differences in the blocks between the two? From what I've read the only difference between the 20 and 24 is the bores but they don't say if there's a difference in the blocks
But I agree that the RRM kit would be better on the J20A, shame they can't tune it for shit

yes

Fucking sweet, new project to salivate over
>>
>>16284711
it's never been done to my knowledge but the engine mounts are in the same place, the crankshaft's the same, and the transmission bolt pattern is the same. You'll likely have to use a piggyback ECU to modify the tune for it, but if you plan on turboing anyways, it isn't that big a deal since you'd need one anyways.

>The only problem I'm seeing with doing either the Kizashi or Aerio engines is pistons, as in there are none
You can get Honda B-series pistons to work if you can order them in the diameter you need
>>

I know that works with a J20A with modifications done by a machinist using B20 pistons, but I don't think that will work for either the J23 or J24
