VW is going to give me about 23k for my 2013 Golf TDI with about 60k miles on it. Figure I should take advantage and get myself something newer. Should I be boring and buy a 2017 Mazda3 Hatchback Grand Touring or more adventurous and get something with more kick? Have my eye on a 2016 Dodge Charger RT with 10k miles on it that's priced at 25k. I'm also open to other recommendations that I should look into in this price range.

23k in cash? Why not trade in for a luxury VW?
Get a CTS
Newer chargers are pretty fucking good; if you want an automatic, RWD, comfy, powerful landbarge I'd go with that. Would recommend an N55 335i if you have 25k~ish to spend and want manual, though.

ATS are even cheaper and apparently drive really well

The main problem with CTS and ATS is CUE is utter crap and totally distracting, and you can easily run into quality issues like badly stitched leather or panels that aren't fitted properly. And it's a Cadillac, which means that nobody your age drives one and everyone laughs at you.

Yeah but they seem to be pretty good deals considering.
And yeah I heard CUE is a fucking nightmare,

No one cares what car you drive

Stick a quick 10k more on it before turning it in.

Keep the vw. Nothing wrong with it.
