Well you'd have to get it tuned for one, and you'd probably need to upgrade the fuel system as well.

Also it depends on which engine you get, the old Cléon engine (pre-2000) or the newer D-series (the 16v version is still being used in turbo form today).

Turboing any car isn't cheap.

You can get a running Twingo from 0 to €300 and everything above is a decent one but to turbo it you will easily look at something like 1500 at least to get most parts and then you also have to know how to do all this.

You'd literally pay the cost for the whole car several times just to get it turbo'd.

Would be cheaper to find a scrapped 1.4t Renault and swap the engine into your Twingo.

I wouldnt assume it was that expensive. I can get a small turbo for 100€, intercooler for 50, piping isnt that expensive.

Fuel pump is another 100. I have a friend who owns a metal shop so getting the manifold shape cut isnt a problem.

And as for a tune, maybe ill do that. Im hoping i could just run a but of boost, not too much that the stock MAF/MAP/AFM can keep up the job.

If you want to go 1.4T, get an older Twingo because the 1.4T is also a Cléon engine. It came in the Renault 5 Turbo and the 5 GT Turbo, and maybe a few others too.

Don't know much about import/registration/shipping costs, but a decent one can be found for under a grand in mainland yurop.
You'll have to deal with LHD though, and you can probably find some Mazda/Ford/Toyota/Honda for less.

renault 11 turbos are pretty rare too and are starting to be worth a pretty penny if they're in good condition

the volvo 1.7 turbo from the 480 is the exact same engine, except it has fuel injection. it's commonly swapped into renault 5's. and those cars can be had for very cheap because noone cares about those

nope. it fits and bolts on to the stock twingo chassis mounts. you do need an engine block mount from the renault 5 GTT, but you'll find it for cheap and it bolts straight on.

another "simple" engine swap is the twingo 16V F7P engine. (or F7R from the williams if you're lucky enough to find one)

i'm told it turns the twingo into a pretty fast car although you will need to upgrade the brakes, and you will need balls of steel when you drive it as it's a bit front heavy and ridiculously overpowered

Hey guise. Anon with the aqua green Twongi which was posted recently on /osg/'s Instagram here.

I've just found out an interesting fact about mine and I'd like to share it with you. As I was looking at Twingo pics both here and local Twingo websites, I've discovered that there are at least four other Twingos with the same licence plate as mine (34 meaning it is registered in İstanbul, the rest is random letters and numbers) I knew that the possibility of it being just a coincidence in an overly crowded city like İstanbul is very slim, so I dug deeper.

Yesterday, I found out that around 1999-2000 (which is the MY of mine) a TV show gave away Twingos as the grand prize.

So long story short, the original owner of mine acquired it as a prize from a TV show almost certainly.

Dunno why but it made me love it even more.
