Ya, running out of oil is a good way to seize an engine.

Throw a breaker bar on the crank, I bet it's locked solid.

Also, it didn't make any loud noises when it died either.

If the engine stopped running at some point while driving, most likely seized, especially if it felt like the engine stalling while going above 15mph and you may have heard a god awful grinding noise

I's pull out an auto loan for like $5k if I were you, get a decent car that'll last another 10 years and get your money's worth. Cheap cars break all the time, I'm 20 and took out 6.5k loan with a 6% interest rate. Not a terrible deal. Get something that looks nice and runs well. You'll be glad you did.

With my cavalier, when the wheel is pointed straight, the front passenger wheel is turned about 15 degrees to the right.

It didn't come on at all. The gauges are broken. The car just suddenly shut off at an intersection while I was idling and then I couldn't get it to crank or turnover.

Same symptoms as when the other cavalier's alternator died.

Oh. If you don't have a breaker bar and appropriate socket, and it's manual, you can put it into top gear, take the parking brake off, and give it a good push.
