Hey /o/, I just bought an E30 from my uncle, and it definitely drives like an old car. It just feels kind of imprecise when I'm driving it. It also makes a strange clunking noise when I clutch in that I've decided is the throw out bearing.
What are some things I can do to strengthen it up and make it feel more responsive? I'm thinking
>Bilstein B8 Struts/Shocks
>H&R Super Sport springs
>New lower control arms/ball joints
>New tie rod ends
>New engine mounts
>New transmission mounts
>New throw out bearing/clutch kit
>New weather stripping/sun roof gasket to prevent wind noise
ALL THE SUSPENSION BUSHINGS

Right. I forgot to mention bushings but I was thinking it.
Also, is rock auto good enough to get these parts? As long as I don't pick the cheapest one in every category I'm not going to be fucked right?
Just replace everything rubber. Mounts, subframe bushings, suspension bushings, flex disks. New struts will definitely help.
The clunking noise isn't going to be your throw out bearing.

What would it be? It happens when I push the clutch in to shift, and then again when I let it out. At first I thought it was something shaking around in the trunk, but I still hear it with everything taken out.

Reading more about it, it sounds like it could be a loose differential bolt. I'll try to check those when I get a chance. Other people say it could be engine/tranny mounts flexing.
I have my own question, over time engines lose hp is there anything i should do to regain hp and make run like the day it came out of the factory?

Clean everything, make there are no restrictions on intake/exhaust.
Clean/replace injectors
New spark plugs/coils
Maybe run sea foam? I'm not really sure what that does.
Depends on the condition of your engine.

Piston rings might need replacing, cylinder bore could probably use a 0.030" overbore and hone, which means 0.030" oversize pistons. Maybe you can get away with less bore and stock pistons, but don't count on it.
Replace bearings and seals now that you have the opportunity.
Rebuild and retune your carb.
Take the opportunity to install a bumpier cam if you want.

You need rear subframe mounts. The sound you're hearing is the subframe coming up and hitting the body because the bushings are wasted.
