Dual clutch or automatic. Namely, how do you decelerate or come to a stop? Are you supposed to sequentially downshift as you come to a stop, engine braking on the way there? Sure the car will rev match for you, but the computer blipping the throttle up to 3k just coming to a stop seems really excessive in every day driving.

Leave it in automatic when you aren't trying to fast. Drive it like a manual without a clutch when you do

In my DSG there are three driving modes. D, S and +/- for Manual mode. D and S are automatic shifts with D shifting up earlier for better fuel economy and S holding gears for longer.
Manual mode will automatically go down to first if you come to a complete stop without downshifting.

What if you're approaching a red light and it turns green before you come to a complete stop?

I don't know how to drive manual.

First off, they're called paddle fucking shifters. You faggots sound like a bunch of grade 5 boys when you say "flappy paddles"
On a paddle shifted automatic if you leave it in "s" mode or whatever and don't downshift all the way to 1st then go to take off in 3rd it will go through 1, 2 by it's self then stay in whatever gear you left it in.
It's not going to blip the throttle that much unless you go from 6th to 1st instantly, which the tranny won't let you do.

Most gearboxes, torque converters or DCTs, even SCT downshift for you when you stop
>>16245894
its easy mode manual m8, just upshift before the revs go into the reds
shit it even pulls away for you. there aint even a fucking clutch

Have you never used a sequential gearbox? YES you downshift as you slow down, and use engine braking.
Especially if you're using one without a gear indicator, and have to keep track in your head.

Then fuck off.
