Polished aluminium is indeed polished aluminium. Doesn't matter whether it's a $50 no name cast wheel or a $1,500 forged name brand wheel, you can easily polish it to a shine.

Got down to 80 grits to remove all the corrosion from the aluminum and even then there are still a few spots left.

You can still see scratches from not going up carefully with the sandpapers.

Yeah I understand you I jumped into this project because they looked easy.
The problem I had was those little curve on the wheels they were 2 layers of paint plus 1 layer of primer it took forever to get them to bare aluminum.

Good luck amigo. This is a project for winter so I do it on spare times otherwise I would have cancelled it already.

Also while restoring my wheels I had to remove the clearcoat layers and the paint.
I bought this and it works very well. Save you a lot of time if you don't have access to a sandblast.
