Why do Audis understeer so much?
>>16236757
The engine sits too forward over the front axle.
>>16236757
engine ahead of the front axle.
>>16236757
pigfat, haldex """"awd"""", retardedly front heavy
>>16236795
Only the A1 and A3 use haldex
>>16236757
shitty european engineering
>>16236757
The engines have been moved way back behind the front axle in audis from 2008 and up you faggots.
>>16237426
Really? Cause this is the current A7 cutaway and it looks like the engine is pretty far forward.

the front axle has moved a few inches further forward but that's it
I have not understeered once in my audi, but used to constantly in my c280
Audi does not make real sports cars, they're bahn-burners. Nothing goes down a highway like an Audi.
As a 4.2 s4 owner (inb4 timing chains) i confirm that ya it does understeer from all that weight up front but you also have to drive and enter the corners a bit different than any other allwheel drive (like the difference of ff to rwd). You can really use that front weight to your advantage on gravel and snow if you chuck it right and use the throttle to keep the rear in check. Other than that the oem swaybars and bushings were absolutely rubbish so ive swaped mine out for a adjustable rs4 kit from Hotchkiss a few years ago(+ make some custom rear ajustable endlinks (034 motorsport copys with better alloys for salt reasons) to handle the added stress). Went up about 160% in the front and around 280% in the rear. With those adjustments to driving input and suspension geometry changes the steering is alot more neutral with a tad of lift off oversteer.

Lol not gonna lie i do beat the piss out of the thing and really o.c.d when i have a wheel alignments done (have a note pad of different toe /camber/ caster set ups ive tried over the years and so far oddly my current set up feels just right and i just eyballed it in when i replaced my front control arms (hit a nasty pothole in northern ontario and cracked the front drivers cup bracket) (pic is my s4 btw). Definitely gives the c5/c6 vets a run for their money at the local track day in the twisties now (the weight does kill my tires tho). But hell its a wagon.
