just bought a 2013 hyundai veloster turbo yesterday, and it's a manual. I haven't ever owned a manual, and this is the first time I've drove a manual in at least two years, but i still remember the basics. shit like starting on a hill, downshifting, and double clutching are pretty simple for me. but are there other things that you guys think I should learn? Any tips, tricks to making my daily drive a little better or easier?
>pic related, not my car, but same model and color
I be you're granny shifting, not double-clutching like you should.

More than you can afford, pal
If we have to, overnight parts from Japan.

why does /o/ hate these so much? It's like a fwd BRZ that sacrifices a little fun for more practicality?
>>16223646
It's an econobox with an unreasonably harsh ride that pretends to be a GTI/FiST competitor.

My girlfriend has one, the ride isn't even harsh unless you're a little girl, and It's like 10k cheaper than both those cars.
Also the fact that it doesn't have IRS for the sake of a deeper and wider trunk means they went for practicality over performance in some areas.
I've driven a 2014 GTI with whatever DCT they have on it... It was pretty lifeless desu, not much fun. Can't say anything about the focus ST, but it's 6k loonies more expensive,
not to mention the velosturd turbo comes standard with the "tech" package which means you're pretty much starting off with a loaded regular veloster. Don't know about the other 2 but either way they're more expensive.
Also because the resale on Hyundai's is so shit anyways you can get these things with very low km for dirt cheap. My gf got a 2016 for 21k. with 15,000km's on it.

Ah ok
Veloster is still non-comparable
>>16223825
also all of fords turbo cars need 91, velosturd takes 87.
Also with similar options, the FiST is still more expensive than the velosturd.

>also all of fords turbo cars need 91
Nope, you can run 87 in the FiST at least, don't know about the other ones. It won't make as much power as if you ran it on a higher octane, but I think it's something like a 6% decrease in peak power, which isn't really a big deal.
>>16223848
That's not true at all, why would you even say that?
>>16223147
>Double clutching
Why the hell would you ever do that unless your syncros are bork?
>Any tips, tricks to making my daily drive a little better or easier?
Learn to drive stick.
