That looks like a giant round hotdog for a steering wheel.
As for comfy, in hot weather, leather heats up and stays hot because it has mass that must be cooled down by your hands. If you used a nice soft synthetic plastic wrap that was foam backed, only that tiny amount of plastic has mass holding the heat because the foam doesn't really hold the heat. So the wheel becomes tolerably cool almost instantly even though it is black coloured. Black leather would remain hot for quite a while in arizona sun (and it would crack too).
OP's hot dog steering wheel is not visually comfy. Who wants to grab a giant circular hot dog? That is NOT comfy. My mind is already shaking inside as I imagine myself using that hot dog coloured steering wheel in your all black interior.
my car had one when I bought it. It was nice to grab, but looked shitty and got gross and sticky in summer heat. I took it off after 4 months
