How can people enjoy F1 when its cars looks so retarded? The overall appearance, the high pitched noise, the toy-like steering wheel, the way just the head of the pilot sticks out, it all looks so childish I don't know how it is so popular.

because its so unlike every other kind of racing. Its super high speed, super high-G turns and performance and efficiency are key to winning
>>16219021
>super high speed
>implying the people who make the rules aren't constantly gimping speed in favor of safety
>>16219009
holy autism
>>16219009
you should try killing yourself

>Ass-Mad /turnleft/-fag detected
F1 doesn't need lucky dogs, caution clocks and a bullshit "Playoff" points system to decide a champion.

>i dont like the way this thing looks
>toy-like steering wheel
>the high pitched noise
>the way just the head of the pilot sticks out
why are you people replying to this.
why are you not saging every reply.
why are you falling for this ruse.
dont let them rustle your jimmies.
it used to be manly

still the fastest race cars in the world

Barely, 2013(14?) Super formula cars were quicker in the corners

The only thing that made it interesting the last years was Verstappe.
Rally races are way more fun.

I hate this so much

Not even close in terms of outright lap times though. Also next year's F1 cars will be much faster through corners. More aggressive aero and wider tires are coming. They might be the fastest cars that F1 has ever seen, since the power units are already nearing 1000hp if not surpassed it by now, and they're removing in-season engine development restrictions next year as well.

I guess from a normie's perspective, a lot of what you are saying makes sense. It does look kind of retarded. I used to think the same way a few years back.
But after getting into motorcycle racing and cars, you learn to appreciate the true meaning of the word performance...particularly when it comes to things like acceleration, handling, braking, etc....
And when you have an understanding of all this in the context of motorcycles, NASCAR, or even tuned street cars, you can't help but be astonished at just how superior F1 machines are. It blows everything away by such a huge margin that watching F1 is like watching a magic show a lot of the time. It's just completely insane. So we don't really think about the comical aspects of it

I know, they stepped up the speed again in the last two years and I can't wait for next year's regs. My point was that they f1 was slowing down while other series' started to caught up. I know the outright lap was slower but that was because f1 cars pushed (and still do) more power that super formula did
