Hello /o/, I am going to a car auction on Monday and I need help finding the right one. Hopefully top 5 options that would be under £500. This is an auction so I bet some would be very cheap to buy.

C4 should be pretty bulletproof. Some HDis hadproblems regarding flywheels mostly but not the recent 1.6.
I would go for the comfiness (and probably cheapness depending where you're from, UK I guess), but 2001 was first year of production and the first models had some issues. Plus I didn't even know they came with the 2.2 as soon as 2001. Petrols are a way safer choice.
2004 Mondeo petrol should be pretty solid too, TDCi had some issues (flywheel, injectors, DPF iirc)
Avoid 307s like the plage, I know many horror stories about them. Electricals mostly.
206 and Focus 1.4L will be underpowered.
Also wtf is the Crossfire doing in this list of sensible shitboxes kek

C4, because it has a VTR badge on it.
Focus Zetec would be a pretty solid choice too.

Oh didn't see you were going to an auction. Well good luck then. C5 should go for a low price, relatively unknown car with an engine size that isn't quite optimal for UK taxes.

Looks like C4 is the way to go.They go about for £2k in ad pages.. I think I'm gonna go in with £800 and see how it goes
