Hall/o/.
I've just had my engine bearings replaced. The car is now running "Run-In" oil. The sticker reads that I should wait 1,000Km before doing an oil change. The car is at ~300Km. Is it such a big deal if I do an oil change now?
Also, do I need to change the filter?

Not really. "Break-In" oil is not your spec oil, it has additives to wear the engine in. Also 1k km isn't shit, be patient.
And always change your filter for an oil change.
I would normally wait for the recommended run-in time, but I have a buyer lined up and he wants me to do an oil change before he picks it up.
I've had other people say that "run-in" oil is a relatively pointless, so I didn't know how important it was when you're just replacing bearings.
...and i'd never do an oil change without changing the filter, but i've never been in this situation before (run-in oil, replacing filter after ~300Km of use etc).
Thanks for the input.
Break in oil and stuff like that matters more when you put new rings in. Generally speaking you need to run Dino oil when seating new rings.
The increased carbon deposits it creates helps make the compression rings seat faster before the bores glaze over.
You got a Sierra?
I'm actually looking into getting one myself, as a first car.
Yeah, i've had a few of them now.
It's a great car, and have a lot of potential.
Mine is twisting 700Nm at the wheels.
A lot of lag though.

Sadly i'll be opting for the non-Cosworth Sapphires, maybe a three-door if im lucky enough to find one.
Nevertheless i'm head over heels for the Sierra's looks.
Any maintenance tips and the like?
What country are you in?
The ABS sensors seem to inevitably give warning/fault indications. I think they're just prone to getting dirty. The ABS system, in my experiences, has never had a fault, but the warning light still lights up occasionally.
