I think it's the opposite. They are small stores with small inventories that they just sell through quickly. Niche products and they don't want to invest that much cash into inventory and the limited supply kind of gives a rare value to then.

Resize the image and change the medium to inches, this way if it's a slap you can easily make it 8X3 or whatever and then send them the file. If you only want a shop to print what you've made do as much of the work as you can, including figuring out how big you want your sticker to be

Typically no they won't. They will send the file you give them to print, so whatever resolution you send them will determine the size of the finished product. To be safe resize the file and tell them the final size you would like.

For pure vector designs, you do not have to worry about DPI or anything raster related. Worry about color profiling/matching first. DO NOT deliver your vector design as a raster image — used PDF, that's what it was designed for. Illustrator, PostScript, and even SVG are acceptable depending on the printer. If you need to include any raster elements, use a higher DPI than you think you'll need; it's better to downsample than to upsample. I suggest 600DPI.
And above all, please don't use PhotoShop for vector work. PhotoShop is a raster program that fakes vectors.

These exist. They are called vinyl clings but they are more for home or business windows. Basically anything that is designed to come right off will come right off and most people who pay $8 for their waifu peek don't want it to be peeling in a week.

If you really autismo about your paint get a full vehicle vinyl wrap- not only is it more gentle than a sticker it actually protects your paint- you know for that day you strip your 2dgf off the hood and sell your car for $800.

It can be worth it when you move out of weeb stickers, but that is a lot of risk and time.

you can however, buy a old used wide format jet printer and provide printing services though that. auto stickers won't be possible, but it can be worth doing if you live in a small town and nobody around does that. It will also be very slow by modern jet printer standards which an established print shop should have already.

Noticed a distinct lack of Sora no Woto shit anywhere, so I tried my hand at making a large copy of it using a screenshot from the show as a guide. Was thinking of eventually getting it made into a sticker for my car for the discrete weeb reference. Thoughts? I'm still up in the air about leaving the outer background without a gradient. Original is 2632x3252 but I scaled it down some to allow me to upload on my shitty connection.

I machine vectored it to get the size, then cleaned it up by hand at that size, so as of right now the full size one is still a raster. However, I imagine that if I needed to, machine vectoring it again would produce good results that needed minimal cleanup.

Ok, just vectorized it in Illustrator. At the size I had the raster, it came out great, though there are some slight differences. While not really enough to make a difference, I have a question for the future: Is there any program you guys use to edit vector images directly, rather than going from original image -> messy machine vector -> large image -> new machine vector (cleaned)? I'm familiar with inkscape's capabilities, though afaik it's mostly editing text at that point.
