how does fuel injection work? pic related
>>16198214
Fuel injectors inject fuel into the engine.
>>16198214
Nobody knows, actually.
???
>>16198221
how does it meter?
the suckanchor rotates the fuel converter for higher output pressure
>>16198214
there's more than one fuel injection system so which one?
Throttle Body Injection?
Central Port Injection?
Multi-Port Injection?
Sequential Multi-Port Injection?
Direct Injection?
looking at it, it almost looks like a propane mixer bolted to an intake. but its actually fuel injection. wtf man
???

A computer
>>16198226
Preprogrammed injector duty cycles based on atmospheric temperature and pressure, throttle position, engine coolant temperature, et cetera.
>>16198226
A fuel pressure regulator keeps the fuel at a constant pressure, so you can meter fuel based on the duration that the fuel injector is open
>>16198233
clearly the ones in the photos
>>16198244
which are all different systems
>>16198238
nope. wrong. computer not found.

Are you asking about mechanical injection or electronic injection? They work very differently.
>>16198251
M-mechanical fuel injection?
>>16198248
its analog then?

everything in the pics

very much so. The one you're referring to is Mechanical Fuel Injection. This should help. Chevrolet experimented with mechanical fuel injection in the 50s and 60s.

this kind
It injects transmission fluid into the brake rotors, which causes the turbo to spool past the limit, increasing speed.
Mechanical fuel injection is an ancient black art that nobody alive today fully understands.
>>16198226
mechanical injection like Hilborn just dumps it in like a retard as throttle increases
.
it doesnt really meter
>>16198273
exactly a mechanical fuel injection setup.
See:

Usually it is meter via a drive connected to the crankshaft, increasing fuel output vai rpm. But there are also systems that work on a complicated mess of vacuum lines; either way, mechanical fuel injection is either waay too simple or waaay too complicated, resulting in a system that is never optimal compared to carburetors or electronic fuel injection.
>>16198214
here's a diagram.
>>16198286
what kind is this?
>>16198276
Fuel gets pumped into the metering chamber Via a lift pump. The needle pressed down through the metering chamber and the fuel is atomized via the conicle, into the intake manifold. Fuel injection pressure is regulated by adjusting the spring and plunger at the top either by screw system or steel washers to adjust the tension. Its pretty simple really.
>>16198226
Metering chamber has a set amount of CC's.

Thank you for posting the standard template of every mechanical injection system ever.

how does it richen to act like the accelerator pump when the gas is mashed open to prevent the sudden leanness?
