So I just spent $330 on a Brembo RCS 19 master cylinder kit after I concluded my original master cylinder was fucked since it wasn't holding any pressure in the lever.

Well, after 1 round of bleeding, my brand new brembo master cylinder isn't holding any pressure either.

is there ANY CHANCE something could be wrong with the brand new stainless steel braided cables I bought?

Or is it more than likely something is fucked with my calipers?

no, they're not unless you're doing plenty of track riding where you'll actually be cranking it over far enough for the better tire choices to matter. You can get plenty of tires for your stock wheels that do great on the road.
I use these.

it is! I drew that when the guy you sold it to stuck the big white mirrors on it
>>
>>16179655
Honestly he shouldn't have bought a DRZ if he wanted maximum performance in either area. The DRZ is a dual sport designed to be a compromise between streetability and dirt worthiness. It only makes sense to get a tire that's good for both.

At this point, I don't want to sacrifice trail performance for better street tires. That's why I was considering a new set of wheels, so that when I do ride dirt I can swap them out and use SM wheels for the road.

I can't afford two bikes and wont be able to for 3 more years. At that point, I'm going to be moving and may have to sell the DRZ anyways.

keep in mind the SM wheels get extreme meme tax. Expect to pay at least $700 for wheels, or likely over $1000 for a full setup including tires, sprockets, and rotors.
>>
>>16179696
I agree but I meant traction instead of performance.
The problem with DS tires is that the true knobbies perform much better out of their element than the road-oriented tires. My XCMH's are hardly worse on pavement than the kenda K270s....but miles better on dirt.
The only true advantage of a "50/50" tire is it wears out slower.

I've never liked knobbies on the road. They feel wobbly as the knobs flex around. They are noisy. And they have shit traction, especially noticeable when braking. If I try to stop quickly they start to skid way before the rear wheel lifts up like with a street tire. The 50/50 tire I tried wasn't great either. My 705s (considered 80/20 street tire) are great tho. Feels just like a good street tire until I get to the trails where it performs way better than one. It's no knobby but it's surprisingly good until I get to grease mud. I really don't feel like they fall short (compared to the pilot powers I had on my supermoto wheels) except for when I throttle it hard through a corner in low gear where I sometimes get a slight wheel slip.
>>
>>16179729

Swapping wheels frequently still gets old really fast. I prefer to just have one set of wheels that does everything so I don't have to change them out if I want to do the other, especially since I don't know where I will be riding each day.

>>16179765
The 705s are quite a bit groovier than that. As I said they can't compare to a knobby but for your casual dual sporter who rides mostly street and occasionally goes down a light trail they do plenty well, especially compared to a street tire people throw on supermotos. The narrow, larger diameter wheels by themselves actually make quite a bit of difference and help off-road.

Beautiful. I some how found one of the few scenic roads that hasn't been ruined by oilfield traffic or by pump stations. The moon was awesome and there was just the right amount of humidity and dust in the air that it looked spectacular.

My cool season riding gear needs a little maintenance but even the chill didn't damper the ride.

End of night was a little bitter sweet as I chained my bike to the carport, going out of town for thanksgiving so no riding for a week.

>>

I gave serious thought to riding my bike to EP for thanksgiving even with all the hairiness taking a 250cc onto I-10 entails just so I could ride next week.

Had to abandon that after an oilfield worker apparently backed into the rear quarter panel/bumper at the local BBQ place. No I need to take my sentra in over the break so it can get repaired.

Trying to see a silver lining, if they keep my sentra longer then the week I'll "have" to ride my bike to work until its ready.

>tfw sell bike to upgrade
>Been 2 months now and get paranoid about going through with deals
Last bike was worth 5,000. 1200 bandit. It was old but still quick, nimble enough and I knew it was reliable after looking after it for a year.

Now I'm looking at getting a cbr / gsxr or something similar. Preferably a gsxr750 or cbr1000rr. (Test rode a cbr600 but hated how slow it was down low).

Problem is I'm getting extremely paranoid about spending 10k on a second hand bike that could have hidden problems. Am I being unreasonable? What's the worst that could happen? I would buy new but there's a chance I'm moving overseas in a few months and don't want to piss away my money.

bikes worth a damn:
dual sports and dirtbikes - includes supermotos
sportbikes
dedicated touring bikes

bikes not worth a damn:
drag bikes
cruisers
"standards"
adventure bikes aka fat dirtbikes and standards with knobbies
>>
>>16180278
>there's a chance I'm moving overseas in a few months
Then don't buy a bike at all.
>>
>>16180283
I don't consider those ADV bikes with cast rims, they are just touring bikes. True ADV has spoked rims.
>>
>>16180286
I can't last 4 months without a bike. 2 months has been hell
>>
>>16180295
Cast rims aren't necessarily worse for offroad, just more expensive and sophisticated if they're good for it
>>
>>16180278
the worst that can happen is that your bike is superficially clean, but has bent rotors, pads with 10% life left, an oil leak which you'll notice as soon as you drive away, fuelling problems, an odometer from a completely different bike reading 40k less miles than are actually on the motor, and a bent frame.
>>
>>16180312
99% of the time you'll have epoxied over cracks in the fairings, tweaked triples, paint damage, and a bent subrame from a looped wheelie

Bring a measuring tape, a flashlight, some universal stands, and your tools. If they won't let you take things off to measure the frame, check the wheel alignment. and do basic checks like seeing whether or not the air filter is still there, or do it for you, don't fucking buy it.

My entire body tingled. I felt lighter. I was covered in sweat, and breathing heavily. I felt high, delirious, in shock and awe. Great waves of increasing euphoria washed over me. Feelings of amazing pleasure I simply cannot describe. I felt as if I was bathing in a golden light of goodness. This was a transcending event. I felt like I had just touched the universe itself.

Tips for wheelies guys?
I can get 1st gear but I'm having trouble with 2nd gear.
One night months ago I just got 2nd gear wheelies over and over so I know the bike is capable...
But I can only barely get a stand up 2nd gear wheelie going now.
My technique (as best as I can explain) is to pull the clutch in just enough to rev the bike up near the redline and then let go of the clutch as I open the throttle up completely and lean back standing up but I can't get it going like I used to, and definitely not sitting down.

One amp won't hurt it overnight. Ancient motorcycle mech here.

I use a Yuasa 1 amp tender/charger with pleasing results. I avoid old transformer battery-boiler chargers for cars.

I leave my spare batteries on the Yuasa for weeks sometimes if I forget to swap (I have many extra batteries) with zero problems.

Bleeding can be a bitch. Air rises so the syringe advice is good, and you can use small hose clamps (constant tension "wing" style, not worm drive) to snug your plastic tubing on the caliper nipple if needed.

I anti-seize my nipple threads so they never stick, and use a box end wrench to bleed since all nipples are tender and soft. Anti-seize also helps seal the threads when the bleeder screw is cracked open for bleeding.

Remember you can bleed brakes at all fittings! I crack the banjo bolt fitting on the master and bleed that first, then alternate until I get firm lever feel.

Bleeding eventually pisses off anyone. For example I've been swapping calipers since the 1980s, but I got the shim washers a cunt hair off on one side of an HD four piston caliper adapter and the system wouldn't bleed. Figured it out after much bleeding and cursing. I let caliper hang loosely over rotor, bled fine, shimmed afterwards.

Where did you get that shit and who do you think occupied East Germany and East Berlin until the Wall came down? BTW I was stationed at Sembach AB during the Cold War and chatted with many older Germans about the WWII. There are plenty of people still alive who hauled arse out of Berlin as the Soviets crashed into it. Are you some retarded American white trash who gets their insanity from conspiracy sites? As an American veteran with a clue and a lifelong personal and professional interest in military history, I wish you to crash hard and be crippled. You deserve it you stupid fuck.

I also grew up with our WWII and Occupation vets when they were still in the workforce. No one could have hidden a Soviet halt outside or at German borders. Millions of people were directly affected by where all Allied armies were positioned before and at VE day.

Since your post indicates you have nostalgia for Nazism (hey, anyone who killed that many Commies please me too!) I suggest more serious study instead of wallowing in nonsense. The Wehrmacht and SS rear guard actions were magnificent acts of bravery not to be tarnished by fools. Many former German soldiers fought Communism after the war in the French Foreign Legion.

Snooth throttle control.

I only do half pressing at 90° corners where I need to slow down to 5-10km/h or at walking pace, slow maneuvering where I come close to half/full steering lock.

But in a roundabout? Nah. I have yet to see one that requires me to go at snailpace.

>>16181961
Does the bike jerk forwards or backwards when you shift?
forwards

maybe I hold the lever for too long. or because it's a 250cc everything happening in high revs so I need to hit more the throttle.(when I accelerator fast)
I don't have this problem in third gear and above

I think you right that's it's taking me to long, but the part that is taking me too long is the clutch lever. or should I be in the friction point for longer?

sorry for my english.
>>
>>16182034
>forwards
You're taking too long with the clutch lever and you're not letting off the throttle. You're bringing the revs higher than the gear which makes the bike jolt forward a bit once the clutch grabs.

Shifting should be fast. Bikes rev quick enough that you can just pull the clutch in, shift, and drop it.

>that's what they teach you in educated countries that don't try to make themselves look like the winners in every war

The Soviet Union won WWII in the east and in later stages smashed through the Wehrmacht like shit through a goose. The Red Army did most of the bleeding of all the Allied forces, and lost more at Stalingrad than the Germans they defeated.

I defy you to cite supporting sources for your contention of a Soviet halt. Even German general's memoirs and the autobiography of Albert Speer confirm the fall of Berlin. I defy you, bitch. Support your point. Even groups who hate each other, like the pro-Axis forums, have endless accounts of the fall of Berlin. Are you saying all the Allies AND all the Axis AND third parties lied and kept it on the same page AND brainwashed millions of witnesses who were on the spot? What are you saying?

I never contended anything about the Viet Nam war ITT though I can break down the way it was always going to be a strategic defeat better than you can and do that off the cuff. Counterinsurgency failures and successes are my specialty. I'm not the standard Burger, bitch. Troll harder.

IHR are solidly pro-Nazi. Have some Dönitz attempting to manage the fall of the Reich. I can do this all day, with citations.

http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v04/v04p305_thompson.html

Would not HIAG, the Waffen SS officer association, have mentioned a halt before Berlin? Why would they lie for the Allies?

Obergruppenführer Felix Steiner among many other participants in the battle of Berlin survived long after the war.

Support your conspiracy theory. Do it now or look stupid.

BTW Urals make nice pseudo-Wehrmacht BMWs, but there were other flat twins like Zundapp used in the war. Significant was that low gear matched the marching pace of infantry so no clutch slipping required. Many vehicles were geared on both sides to match infantry pace without overheating.
