I always see videos of DCT Lamborghinis or Mercedes in traffic or at stop lights just revving their engines. They're usually either stopped or just rolling forward. How are they doing this? Are they shifting into neutral? Is that done with the paddle shifters, or is there a gear select like in an automatic?
their gearbox just shat itself

They're definitely in neutral, but I'm not sure how they put it into neutral.
>>16175128
all transmissions have a neutral setting
>>16175137
Do EV transmissions have a neutral setting?
>>16175137
I'm just wondering how it works on those high-end DCT transmissions. In a manual, you just depress the clutch and leave it in gear, or shift to neutral. In an auto, you just knock the stick into neutral.
How do you do the same in a dual clutch?

Sometimes, for pure EV not, then it just disconnects the motor from the battery, it doesn't have much resistance then
On a newer Lambo / Ferrari / etc with DCT or paddle shift single clutch, pulling on both rocker paddles at the same time puts the car into neutral.

>Operate the two clutch pedals at the same time
No when you shift to neutral it just disconnects the gearbox from the engine, so you can cold trash it all you want

EV transmission?
I've never heard that term before.
>>16175149
>ride the clutch
>shift into neutral
Never said there were 2 clutches.

A transmission that is used in an EV.

Electric vehicle?

Same story as an auto.
Neutral can be engaged in a DCT typically with a separate button or by pulling both paddles simultaneously

I didn't know that. I wonder if automatics with paddle shifter do the same. Or even CVTs with paddles.
