How much are the tyres you get?
Do you recycle wheels?
Are you getting a block heater this winter?
Do you have a winter beater?
Are after-market seatwarmers worth it?
Fuck leather seats in the winter.
- about 40eu a pop
- I cycle them each year so that the rear tires get rubbed off too, if that's what you mean
- I don't trust block heaters
- no
- I don't trust those either
- indeed

>How much are the tyres you get?
$1000, or $250 per tire, got them a week ago
>Do you recycle wheels?
I'll use the wheels I have if I like them, but the wheels that came with the truck were rusted out, one had a bad dent and they were slightly too narrow for the 245 I wanted
>Are you getting a block heater this winter?
Truck already has a hose-heater, aka it circulates and heats the coolant which in return heats the engine
>Do you have a winter beater?
No
>Are after-market seatwarmers worth it?
Not really. If you want quick warmth then I suggest putting a cabin-heater that works in unison with an engine heater. That way its already warm inside and already/soon blowing warm air
>>16172013
>$250 per tire
>>16172025
Its the best or nothing for me when I'm shopping winter tires
>>16172043
Totally understandable. You should never cheap out on tires.
Still a kinda unsettling number for someone who's used to buying tiny hatch shitbox tires.

If I still drove my Merc (I would've swapped to the "same" tire) they would've cost me about $160 per tire, mounted and balanced
They're Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV's in 245/70/16, incase you're wondering
>>16172013
Are those new wheels, too?
Also, putting an engine block heater also means that the first burst of air that comes out when you start the vehicle is warm as well. You don't have to start the engine for 3 minutes before hand or drive for 2 minutes in order to get a warm cabin.

Just got some OR all season (not "All-Season") tyres for $250 each. Goodyear DuraTrac. The tyres match my engine, as well!
They had them at Canadian Tire / Costco for $175 but looked highly suspect since all their "brand names" are at least 50% cheaper. I asked around the community and no serious buyer seems to get them at the big boxstores... Hmmmm...

>245/70/16
Isn't that a bit wide for a normal sedan in winter?
I thought it's better to have thinner wheels to better cut through snow. I never go wider than 185 for winter.
But then again studs are not legal here so I'm only talking from a studless point of view in which I guess wide tires are better again.
>>16172098
Nah, not new - bought them from a buddy of mine
Cleaned them up, put new hubcups on, new lugnuts and aluminium valve caps. Looks a hell of a lot better than what I had
With a good enough hose-heater it'll blow warm air on startup aswell, which is what my Merc did. The HiLux still takes about a minute of driving until it gets warm - not sure if this is due to the heater being old or if its just harder to heat the engine
I wouldn't recommend DuraTracs as on-road winter tires, although they are indeed some of the better MT-tires for winter driving, especially if you get them studded properly and siped a little bit more
>>16172126
Yeah, thinner tires are usually better as they cut through snow AND you get more weight on the contact patch - but this aint no sedan
>>16172126
>>16172162
If you're thinking about the size for the Merc; it would've been 195/65/15. Its the size I ran and I was very satisified with it; a perfect fit

>he fell for the all season meme
i dont even think this even deserves a reaction. should be expected from a taytay poster though.
>>16171480
>he buys winter tyres
>he does not keep the stock wheels forever
>his car is not heated
>owning more than one car
>wanting to die in a fire
Fuck leather anytime
>>16172494
Don't be mean, anon. I didn't do nothing to no one no how.
By "all season" I mean that they're OK in the winter (especially with our oversalted roads in Ontario cities), nice in the deep snow, okay for the autumn / spring mud, and very good for offroad grips in the summer.
I don't have "summer" tyres as much as other people with sedans do. Truccs aren't built for speed and the DuraTracs give me otay fuel mileage.
>>16172162
Was going to get Coopers but muh em pee gees. Also, they're not as reliable on road, unfortunately as they're dedicated offroaders. Aside from lifting higher than 3inches and getting it all done (with $300+ tyres), I figure the DuraTracs will keep me going for at least two years (80 000km rating) on that price.
Maybe i'll get a lift then.

How much are the tyres you get?
-cheapest ones 65€ per tire
Do you recycle wheels?
what do you mean with this, using same wheels summer and winter???
Are you getting a block heater this winter?
already have it
Do you have a winter beater?
no
Are after-market seatwarmers worth it?
All seatwarmers are for faggots who want to marinade their assholes in sweat
Michelin Cross Climates are £65 a corner for my E46 in Costco, they were really good last winter and worked fine in the summer, more than enough for a daily driver.
Leather seats aren't too bad, thankfully they are heated unlike my last Mondeo, but they were more plastic than leather.
old summer tire. Yeah it was shit
anyway, i did the sketchiest ever purchase of winter tires. But hey, 4 good ones on 16' BBS rims for 100 bucks
>>16175839
Looks like you were running too low a pressure in your tires anon
>>16175847
yeah, looks like it. Thing is it was just 0.2- 0.3 Bar lower than the back tire on the other side
also, sides looked like this
