Anybody have any ideas or tricks on how to break a ball joint loose? Specifically a lower ball joint and the car is a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo 2wd. Ive been banging in this shit for 2 hours and it will not break free. Any tips you guys have would be appreciated.

Hammer the pickle for FAR into the joint. That usually breaks ones I'm doing. If that doesn't work, while it's still hammered into the joint, give it one good hard smack down.
Don't do this barefoot, the fork flys off into a random direction, but your ball joint explodes. As it should.

Put a jack under the control arm and get some pressure pushing up..dont lift the truck up just get the spring compressed a little. Hammering on it fully down like that will never work

You clearly have no idea what the fuck you're doing. Call someone who does. Or choke on that pride when you totally fuck it up and have to pay a professional to fix it.

Buy this from Harbor Freight. Tighten it on the ball joint pretty tight then hammer the shit out of the control arm and it should break free. Don't keep tightening it hoping it'll break free that way or you may break the tool itself.
Also be careful you don't fuck up the ball joint threads unless you're not planning on using the joint again.

Chisel, hammer and properly hitting it all around so it loosens up all around.
