STREETVIEW JAPAN CAR SPOTTING
You know the drill!
>>16155276
nice, it's weird how Japs like American shit.
>>16155292
no its not
thats like saying its weird how Americans like Jap shit
>>16155292
It's weirder how they can afford it. If I understand the tax system correctly, you'll end up paying a grand a year for these just to have plates on them, and this doesn't include insurance or fuel.
classic meme
>>16155308
Also a mandatory parking spot. You have to prove to the authorities you own/rent a parking spot before you are entitled to buy a car. The prices for those are on average about $100 a month iirc.
Love these threads keep em coming. Any good spots on some street race cars?
So I've done this a few times and I've come to realize that there are different approaches. Do you guys prefer sticking to main roads and checking the parking lots next to them, or do you prefer going through semirural areas in hopes of seeing an American barge or touge missile parked next to a workshop?
It's not Japan without an S-chassis
And now i find this
I dont this HiAce is stock
Not Japan but close enough
>>16155326
>touge missile parked next to a workshop?
This
Can't tell if this is a real GT-R or not, but oh well
fucking great thread
I just like looking up places on Streetview, seeing how c o m f y the rest of the world looks. Japan is tops, followed by rural Russia so far

I'm not sure if it's the climate or if they simply don't take a lot of care, but wherever I go in Japanese Streetview I see a lot of rusty metal and stained concrete, also it's overcast most of the time which makes it a little less comfy than expected.
I think this is a GT-S
>lives in an apartment complex
>drives a big ass bippu
Found /o/.
I don't know how rare BMWs are in Japan
Remember: Black hoods add 25 HP
>>16155414
I always see upper class cars with RHD from the UK or Japan for sale here in Germany for much less than the same model with the steering wheel in the correct place. I think it's the same with LHD in Japan. Probably imported for cheap from somewhere else. Personally I can't even imagine driving from the passenger seat, especially in a country as tight as Japan.
>>16155414
They aren't, rally. It's actually worth a consideration to get them back from there. Japs love to throw money at maintenance on euro cars, which makes them much better maintained than here in Germany most of the time. And they're usually LHD.
Ya guys think these two are together?
Sweet
>>16155424
>Probably imported for cheap from somewhere else
As far as I know, they love to buy German cars in LHD right there in Japan. It's kind of a status symbol thing, to have the steering wheel on the wrong side for them.
>>16155424
They are LHD in Japan because it's seen as a status-symbol. A LHD configuration indicates the car is a rare imported vehicle.
I've always thought these things are cool

>>16155490
I never said all you retarded sperg. Do you know what reading comprehension is or did your mum drop you as a baby?
The majority of drivers in Japan do have to rent their own spot aside from a couple of rednecks.
>>16155452
What is that even?
>>16155504
>I never said all
precisely, you proved my point by admitting that your idiotic insinuation that in order to own a car in japan you have to prove you have a parking space is false

I feel like this is even worse than Americans importing rare RHD JDM. At least the burgers are buying cars that weren't actually available in the US. As far as I know Japanese plates are 1.5 times as tall as European plates.

I'd imagine none of those cars can ever pass shaken or are legal to be shipped out of the country. Guarantee they have all been totaled by their insurers and reported lost or destroyed. It would simply be more productive for a native Japanese to just buy a car that hasn't been tsunami'd and irradiated.
For a foreigner, it's probably not worth shipping what will be probably be declared as "radioactive waste", crushed and buried the instant it sets off the geiger counters at port.

>>16166027
the problem isn't the fact of the radiation in the area. The reason it's still radioactive is because of all the particles of nuclear fuel that were scattered around the area as dust when the reactor went boom. Those cars are contaminated with fallout, and while the radiation they put out isn't a concern, if you agitate the dust and breathe any of those radioactive particles in, they will be dangerous. Blocking radiation is one of the jobs of your skin, your squishy inside parts will get fucked if particles of fallout end up in your lungs

>>16166220
as he suggested, taking them entirely apart and cleaning them would be the best option for things where air can flow in freely
fallout particles can be cleaned off and if you do it cleverly with good gas masks and suits you can pretty much get cars that have maybe twice the normal background dose and wont shake anything up.
It'd be stupid to not go there wearing stuff like masks and goggles tho anyways
