Are memes about rebuilding the engine every 50k miles true?
Very clean car
>>16155126
More like a rebuild every 60k miles
Possible to make it last longer but it'll lose power faster than a regular engine and I wouldn't trust the previous owner to have kept it perfectly maintained and run it in a way that gives the engine maximal life (e.g. no short trips, revved high often ,pre-mixed, oil squirters and coils/sparks kept perfect)
Lol

My eurobox, 2012 120 vti engine. Had a few issues with the AC when I got it from the dealer but they fixed it. Would have costed me around 1000€ but I was having none of that. Nice drive so far.

Currently getting resprayed back to the original Toyota metallic black and getting rid of the previous owners painting skills (orange peel, runs etc; the Ford Panther Black was a nice colour though).
Also getting optional aero skits and rear spats fitted, as well as a replica Livesports front lip, and a genuine Tom's adjustable spoiler fitted.
Me, Dad, and the painter/body shop guys are amazed at how clean it was underneath the original sideskirts/body mouldings however. I've seen some proper horrors where the sills have been happily rusting away out of view on the Starlets due to being covered, but thankfully this doesn't have a spot of rust other than a bit of bubbling on the front arches. Not sure how, as there is fuck all underseal on it, and it sat parked on grass on a Welsh coast with bushes growing through the engine bay for 3-4 years before I bought it.
>>16155055
Lured some crackheads into my car. Told them they'd get candy. Instead I forced them to go come to a music festival and pretended they were my friends.
>>16155067
I had to invest quite a bit. After 18 years and 100k km of use bushings, clutch and front rotors were going out, and I treated the shoe to a KW v3. Adjusted the valve clearances, changed all fluids.
It's been reliable so far, however I don't do more than 3000km per year with the shoe.

what the fuck are you two talking about
It's a 2008 1,4l 16v Sport (95hp) Fiat Grande Punto with about 45000km (28000 miles) on the clock. Propably the best car deal I'm ever going to make. I'd say that a realistic sale value at a dealership for the car would be around 6k where I live. I bought the car from a guy taking care of his brothers estate and he was fed up that some semi-distant relative girl was always borrowing the car and that he/the estate ended up paying for everything, so he had decided to sell the car, but surprise surprise the girl wasn't interested in it anymore at that point. He was originally asking for 5k, then had lowered it to 4,5k (which was already a really nice price). I really needed a car for my job and, I, feeling a bit ashamed as a broke ass student, offered the guy 3800. The guy said "Ok, it's a deal... or wait a sec... just pay me 3500". Electrics are shit as they commonly are with italians, but the engine seems reliable and it's a really fun rewwy & pretty little thing.
>>16159468
They're not that cheap, they were never that cheap. I bought mine in bits, no bonnet, panels/lights etc off the car, engine just dropped in not connected to anything, interior mouldy for £1000. Probably spent a further £600 or so to get it back on the road.
A relatively standard turbo Starlet with basic mods will still be around £2k in the UK. Fluctuates a lot depending on condition/age/if its a limited edition etc. Prices are going up.a bit now I must admit, used to be that people were selling them for £1300+ a few years ago.
>>16160065
very beautiful, have the secon gen Punto with the 1.4 16v sporting, also 95 hp
have a few more kilometers on mine tho (she has 168k km)
electronic all fine, engine makes noises but still going strong.
Bought an FRS for 21 grand. It was between this and the miata, but it was only available in a convertible up here, and wouldn't survive being driven in winter.
No, I'm not spray-painting runny racing stripes on it, putting a stance mod on the wheels, fucking with the headlights or buying a fucking spoiler.
buying this tomorrow lads.
thoughts?
i needed something practical and economical so diesel estate it is, but this is the ST and is apparently pretty quick for what it is.
kind of sketchy as it's around the mileage that the dwf goes at, but the engine will be under warranty for 3 months, and if it goes outside of that once sorted I should get at least another 100k miles from the engine (possibly changing injectors too at some point)
My DD, only has 143k miles on it and drives great

i also have this weird '87 Galant that i couldn't pass up. i owe the mitsubishi god for rolling a '00 mint condition Galant so i'm restoring this one and swapping out the gay fem-wheel drive with a 4wd

Badgewhore special 114i?
>>16170220
Yup, you clearly don't know what you're talking about if you think that's a one series.
320i, which is perfect for me, and M sport body because it looks loads better than the standard F30's in my opinion.

Couldn't tell by the angle.
>not 6 cyl
Still shit.
Pls no bully :(
I like it
40k km in and no problems
The rims are shit, but those are just the ones I bought it with
Got proper ones but no pics
>>16170340
So salty.
I'd take the F30's N20 4 cylinder engine with twin turbo over the E90's 6 cylinder engine anyway. More responsive, got that "umph" that the e90 never had..
But hey, Cars are all about opinions man. Nobody is making you buy it.
Kinda hate driving the I35 now that I'm actually using it. Comfy as fuck but parking sucks...
