Anyone here mounted their own hitch on their car? I'm thinking about it, but I'm nervous about the work involved. Any pointers from /o/? Big question is, do I need a lift or can I just do it in my drive way?

Dude, unless you're putting it on a fiero you can do it on the driveway.
What vehicle?
Is it for the actually vehicle, or a generic model that needs to be welded?
Class I, II or III?

Hey guys, Chrisfix here!
I installed a hitch on my truck, itll prob be smaller and weigh less on your car.
It can be done in less than 1/2 hour with 2 people.
One person manuevering hitch around and holding in place while other person throws the bolts on really quick to hold it in place.

2003 Grand Marquis. I'm looking at model specific options since I can't weld and don't know a welder. By class, I'm assuming it's a class III since that's what's being sold the most. I'm planning on towing a Uhaul trailer down to FL with my bike in it.
My other big question is how hard is it to wire the lights? Is there a generic kit that works, or is it better to just let Uhaul do it?

The harness comes with the kit.
You plug it into the power end of a taillight then plug the taillight into that.
Set control module anywhere under car away from road

Is there a place better than Ebay to find the kit? It looks like they're asking about $200 for the bar and wires.

Compare Ebay, Amazon and your local auto stores. I put hitches on everything. Not hard and when the kit's in your hand it will all make sense. 200 total is reasonable.

Alright, thanks for the advice man.

200 dollars is normal, stop being a fag.
Its cheap for something use to connect 2 3500+ lb masses, and will fuck someones shit up if they rearend you

I'm guessing you recommend leaving the ball in when not towing?
>>16153656
You can if you wanna do even more damage.
I dont leave mine on when i dont use it though.

Thanks for the input. I guess it's the least I can do, right?
