That's such an incredible exaggeration. Magnesium does corrode, but I've got a basket of magnesium brake hubs from 1972 that were raced, abused, and put away. Nothing wrong with them, except one that was shattered in the 70s that I dissected to determine the extent of corrosion. Nothing wrong with them, I still use them. They're still used without issues on every CZ vintage motocross bike in the world. Very light and thin, and full of holes for spokes.
