This

OP, you want a car to look expensive to normies? get a car with nice curves that is cheap and does not look dated no matter the age

I have an 08 Volvo C30 and even in fucking black chicks think its a brand new car because of its styling, now imagine something like that in the polememe blue or some other eye catching color

another example IMO, is a deep red RX8, a lotus Elise in bright orange or even Mini cooper S in blue with stripes, a nice colored third gen MR2 will also do the trick

do not go for the ancient luxury meme, yes the meme badge that every normy thinks its expensive is there, but the cars look dated as fuck, every one will know you are driving a 2 decade old german car

if you want to look old money, do not get an old bimer or a merc, get a fucking actually old money Jaguar in British green
>>
>>16148429
I'm not looking to buy one of these cars lmfao
>>
>>16148475
Then buy a boxy dated old german car, just know nobody will think you are rolling on money just because you are driving an old luxury car that has hit its bottom in the depreciation curve

Nah, people are dumb as shit. They know all about the depreciation meme but somehow it doesn't line up with upmarket used foreign (read; Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc.) models being much cheaper.

>>16147857
How clean it is also plays a part. A dusty, filthy 201X Acura whatever isn't going to impress anyone, but an immaculate E46 might as it doesn't look particularly dated. The E36 is stretching it though, and an E30 is clearly older.
>>
>>16149123
Thing is the E90 and F30 look pretty similar design wise, but E46 back is clearly older BMW design.

Coupe or sedan makes a bit of a difference too. Something like an E36 coupe looks small and dated while the sedan, while also clearly an older model has presence to it.

You probably wouldn't be turning heads in a black E36 sedan but it wouldn't at all look bad or out of place anywhere as long as you kept it clean.
>>
Either way the E30 is going to look old and distinctly different from anything else on the road. Prices on these are only going up now.

They're not that expensive to repair, they're reliable and they don't rust. In europe there's a plethora of used parts for 90s mercs. Any R129, maybe with an exception of SL600, will be far cheaper to maintain than most 2000+ benzos

The cars I work on are far more valuable and 10x as complicated as a roasted old AMG. Mercedes are not difficult to work on, just irritating because they are built poorly. Nobody who has ever actually wrenched on them in a professional capacity would ever consider buying one.

>How's your ancient shitbox?
Great, someone offered me $15k for it and it doesn't even have all the trim back on. It's good to deal with cars that increase in value as you work on them, rather than buying 90/00ss commuters, modifying them til they are worth nothing, then either crashing them into a tree going down a straight road or scrapping them when they blow up. You should check it out!

No way, it goes in the air?! Have you ever done an alignment on a normal 4 post? You don't have to climb in and out of a pit every time you do a caster sweep, change the screen, etc. Those scissor style in grounds may be great for stancefags but are horrible for actually doing work. If I was using that thing all day I would definitely be as butthurt as you always are, so I understand your pain.

Is that yours? Nice wheels dude. I like the untinted windows too. hnnng

I like 2 post lifts for doing any work on the car, so much room for activities. 4 post is dank for dropping a transmission and not putting any effort in

Yeah I see how that can be a problem when being operated by a manlet such as yourself.

I love that it has integrated jacks though, shit helps.

Does the rotary trigger you too?

>>16156513
Yeah, I needed a 17" rear to fit these Mickey T's on, ended up getting some front wheels to match.
Windows are tinted, just very light. You can only really tell at night.

Nice car m8. Looks great without kebab-sled tint too.

Looks dumb, but good on the person if they're trying to kick a cigarette addiction.

Next question

>kebab-sled tint
Fuckin' lmao
Was going to toss the darkest tint available on it, but figured it'd look shit on a black car.

My wife has been driving it, but I may sell it to a friend and get her something else. I put most of the stock parts back on a few months back.

Ypu own a Crown Athlete V?

How is it? how hard is it to get parts for it?

I've considered one as a daily for a while.
>>
>>16156727
I own a royal saloon, and as for parts, you can order them all online, but you'll pay through the ass for it. I'm an ausfag and even here 1jzs are not that easy to find.

It looks like someone made a shitty joke about the car being a 4-eyes and the car is like "dude, the fuck?"

>an 80's car

The E31 is more of a 90's car. It may have been designed in the late 80's, but production was from '89 to '99 and it has a lot more in common with the other 90's bimmers than with the 80's bimmers. Plus, the styling is much more in line with 90's cars.

You'd have to be insane to call them cheap, though. I currently own two older bimmers (E34 & E23) and I've found both to be very easy and affordable to maintain, but even I won't defend E31s. Those things are bona fide money pits. I would love to own one, but it's one of the few cars I would only consider owning if someone else was going to maintain it for me.
