How often should i change my headlight fluid?

I heard you can make your own headlight fluid by distilling brake cleaner. Anyone tried that yet?

Every 50,000 miles. Even then I don't think I need to do it at all.

I once bought a car with almost no service history and the indicator fluid reservoir cap, filter, and reservoir plug were completely caked in dirt.

I drained the fluid and it was super clean.. I've had to drink water that was dirtier than what I drained out.
