What is the simplest car(mechanically speaking) to wrench on? IMO Renault twingo because it's literally a chassis, 4 wheels and an engine
Bonus points: car is cheap as fuck and spare parts are common and inexpensive

I don't think I've even ever seen a Twingo engine bay. My fox body is pretty simple though. Would be a lot simpler if not for corrosion.

I though jap cars were all overengineered
Muh variable timing
>>16147124
>tfw no nazimobile
Those things cost an arm and a leg now that they killed production

>tighten bolt
Strips threads
>floor throttle
Throttle bracket falls apart
>try to rebuild engine
every bolt rips out threads
Case is cracked in 20 places
>try to start it
A spec of dust clogged the carb
>get it running
Fan hits the shroud and makes terrible noises
Overheats
>fix shroud
Oil leaks up out of intake
>fix oil leak
Oil leaks somewhere else
>get it running again
Wont drive straight
>take it to alignment shop
Tech has no idea what to do
>take it to vw specialist
$5000 alignment
>fuck VW
Fuck VW
pretty much any compact car from the 80's to mid 90's
>>16147144
that's what you get for not getting the original Wolfsburg made one.
>>16147136
Not a lot of space but it's pretty barebones
>>16147136
It's small, but there's hardly anything in there. You can just look straight down and see the ground in multiple places.

>Renault engine
>Easy to work on
Pick one.
>>16147105
Fiat punto pre-fl, they are horrible pieces of shit, but everything is exactly where you think it would be
I almost wanna say any I6 Jeep, especially CJs. The XJ has a cramped engine bay and depending on the year electronic diagnosis needs either a scan tool or pagan ritual.
>>16147124
gas and oil, that's all it needs.
WATER IS A JEW THING

VW Type 1
Fiat 126
Citroen 2CV
FB RX-7
>engine flooded?
>easy, just pour ATF down the carb and wait for the smoke to stop/decrease
They seem to be going up in price sadly
>>16148442
literally this
all of the window lickers on /o/ could probably rebuild an air-cooled vw engine
>>16148442
the baja bug would be even easier than a normal bug, due to the engine hanging out the back.
Any single cyclinder motorcycle with a carb. If you don't like something on it you can remove then hoard it (or sell it).
