Hey /o/, I'm buying a motorcycle off a classified ad and I want to get it delivered (don't have my licence yet), the seller wants a £100 deposit before he delivers it, is this normal?
Don't you have a buddy with a pickup or something to pick it up in person or it's on the other side of the country?

Other side of the country unfortunately

Of course. If it was me I'd be asking for at least 50% before I delivered it. This guy is gonna go out of his way and spend his time and money dropping this thing off to you, it's completely reasonable to ask for a deposit first so that you can't give him some bullshit excuse as to why you don't want it after he runs around for you.

Makes sense, what's the safest medium I could use to pay him in case it is a scam? I'm going to buy the bike for certain, it's a steal for the price.

100 whatever currency you use is reasonable
