The kind of people that do this are scum of the earth so they probably haven't taken care of the car.
You get hit with all the mileage charges .

>What are the cons of taking on someones lease?
You are the one responsible for all the penalties the previous owner racked up for the car but were not paid off. The owner could also have done an "OOOPS Damage" to the car. Now he doesn't want to pay for the remainder of the secretly damaged car so he has to pawn it off on someone.
Now, it could simply be a fine car but the owner is forced to sell due to bad finances. But with less than 12 months left to go, it is a strange time to be quitting unless there are problems.
The lease price was also created with the original newer car in mind. You are now getting an older used up car BUT the payments are based on the newer car. So you are getting an unfair deal. If the lease was magically ended right now, the owner would make an all new lease deal with you for say 12 months and you'd see a much lower monthly lease price.
