Worked on my motorcycle today. Bought it from a sketchy dude on Craigslist so I took it apart today to see whats good.

As to be expected, mountains of sludge all inside the countershaft sprocket cover. Some solidified mixture of grease/grit/dirt/lube that becomes rock hard.

Took off the gas tank and had to spend an hour looking up the various nigger mods people do to these bikes so I could figure out if there was a reason for the crankshaft vent hose being unplugged or if the previous seller was just a retard.

Checked the engine oil, it's at half level and according to markings in the garage was last changed in 2011.

Then drove it around on snowy backroads enjoying that it still handles and accelarates well despite no rear brakes and unstudded tires

Good idea to let it sit with cables attached for a few minutes before jumping to charge the battery a little

Also note that batteries dont like being charged from dead to full while driving. Puts a lot of stress on it

Washed it and washed the doorframe and the rubber and gave it silikone since it has gotten wintery
Cleaned the battery terminals and gave them silikone
Put in winter-ready windowwasher fluid
Vacuumed it

Now I just need to get some winter tires on it and oil up the moving parts on doors, hatch and engineroom hatch
