How do I learn how to wrench /o/? I really hate paying for shit I could do myself with a toolbox

it's not hard. I actually just bought one of those craftsman 155pc set yesterday, along with jack stands and a floor jack.
Im finally learning how to wrench at the age of 25 (even tho i have a lil experience in changing my oil)

Just start taking shit apart and watching YouTube videos. Don't try repairs you don't think you can complete. Don't half ass shit either.

While tinkering and stuff like >>16135228 said, this is a great series to either brush up what you already know or just learn a whole lot about how cars work:

Are there books on that though? I don't want to break anything that would make me wrap my car around a tree.

Great thanks, i'll watch this later(I know how most of it works, just can't tell what is not working most of the time)

Buy a hanes or chilltons manual for your car.
Buy a set of sae/metric wrenches and sockets.
Start with something easy , like changing belt and plugs. Or doing your own brake job.

College textbooks are another good thing to look into. I am not sure which is considered the best though, I'm sure you could find out fairly easily what the definitive texts are via google.
