Dual roles as wrench / customer relations prof at a dealership.

During peak hours they're having me act as a basically a buffer between the service writers and the customers. I listen to their complaints and then try to explain to them what the problem might be then refer them to a service writer whom I think will best resolve their issue and I cool down angry or confused customers. We're a high volume dealership and process about 400 cars daily so they need a dedicated filter. Non-peak hours I assist the mechanics doing minor work IE, battery, bumper, & fluid replacement.

It's 16.50 per hour and about 3 out of the 8 hours I work there, I'm just standing around watching Frasier or joking around with the customers or secretaries. It's a pretty awesome setup. Hoping to get bumped up to tech or service writer to hit the $35 per hour bracket by summer of next year or I'm going to bail on it and finish an automotive design degree.
