lolno. Unless by German you mean VW/Audi, which it does a fair job at competing with (which is on purpose, because Lincoln's target over the past few years has been Audi).

It is good though to see Lincoln turning around from the massive turdpile they were only several years back. It's even good seeing the same happen with Cadillac. I do hope we are witnessing the revival of American luxury cars, they've had a really tarnished reputation since the 1970s and they have a lot of catching up to do.

I think this competes more with the E-Class or A6 more than the 5 series. I just test drove on today for shits and giggles waiting for a Mustang GT key. Build quality was surprisingly high and it was pretty fucking competent on road, but, nah, it isn't a 5 series competitor, it's a big comfy cruiser with cornering thrown in as a bonus.
