Got a new car, previous owner painted the stock wheels black. Until I get some new wheels for it, should I paint the wheels on it a light gray aluminum color or get some solvents and try to strip their shitty paint off? I don't really want too spend too much time on it but I can't stand driving around with the wheels as ugly as they are.
Or do you think I'd be able to trade them for some other wheels on craigslist? I'd assume theyd be worseless but I'm just basing this on that I would never pay money for em. Pic related. Thanks

If you're getting new ones in the future I'd just leave them. I don't think it looks terrible. You could probably trade them for some equally shit wheels.

Sand it lightly, spray a couple coats of primer, paint with your preferred color

It really doesn't look that bad desu. Why don't you just leave it like that and save up for some enkeis
Are you sure it's paint and not plastidip?
If it is plasti then either peel or acetone it off.
Eh if you folks don't think it looks as bad as I do I guess I'll drop em on craigslist and see if anyone bites before messing with em.
Also I just took a pic off google, my car is silver so it looks a bit shittier than black on black. Still think OP pic looks like shitty rice though, I guess I'm pickier than OP when it comes to walmart style rice.

Definitely not plastidip, really wish it was though. No idea why you'd spray your stock wheels black and ruin the resale when you can just plastidip them. Wish they had a decent light gray plastidip so I could do that over the black 'cause the black paint on it seems to have been done pretty well but the gunmetal gray plastidip is hardly an improvement.

It doesn't look that bad, from the pic it appears he did a fairly good job on painting them. I'd just wait until you get new wheels, and either trade them in or sell them. Using stripper might make it worse, and doing a good job getting them back to stock color would be a lot of hassle just to sell it later on

>pickier than OP
meant pickier than the other posters here, I forgot that I am OP. Having an identity crisis apparently.
Why replace the wheels?
Those look like stock acura rsx-s wheels which are one of the lightest Honda stock wheels. People often want these for other Hondas. Chances are whatever you replace them with will slow your car down slightly.

They base wheels, as I said pic is off google. I'd happily replace them with some not painted type s wheels.
