BODY RUST - enough is too much

This is what I can't abide. The nastiest spot on the whole truck and it's directly next to the ducking cab support. Doors, fenders, bed all can be swapped but I ain't about to ever change this cab so I'm forced to do something about it and this is the weekend. Will post progress pics but I'm pretty lazy and like to drink a lot of beer on the weekends so don't hold your breath.

Im guessing youre the red dodge? Do you live up north or something? How did it get that bad? My truck has spent the last 12-13 years on the gulf coast and just has some surface rust on the frame; and its been years since i washed it.

By that point, there is no saving it. Spray it with rust kill and pray to god you dont get hit on that side.

It's just the body bro frame is fine. Unfortunately cab mount is kill. See pic related. I got to pounding the rust off this side and it's soup-can thin. Pounded on the "good" side and I can hear my front cab mount creaking which is a sound I hear driving too, now identified so it does appear I probably shouldn't try to get by on 5 out of 6. Guess I'll be making an appointment with my welder. Sux.

Ya. I've only had it 2 years I bought it with the rust. Had the features I wanted at the price I wanted with lower miles than I thought if be able to get so I his it's time to pay the piper a bit. I presume the previous owner left mud on it all the time but that's just my guess.

Is it just me or does almost $100 seem like way too much for one replacement cab mount? I feel like my dudes could fabricate something cheaper. They won't be open until monday though.

On the bright side while I was shopping I did find a place that sells rocker panels for only $30 each. Sweet.
