its way worse than that anon

Mobile users in the US and probably other countries are being hit with Drive By Downloads from malicious advertisements running on 4chan.

This is part of an ongoing attempt to MotS and deanonymize 4chan users. This is working in tangent with the multiple 3rd party services you see being spammed here like discord, etc.

Youtube has been used in the past to link anons to threads and then comments in those threads

Its getting more dangerous anon, tread carefully

yeah, I also wish they chilled out a bit on the E1M1 Hangar overtones
I get it it's one of the more iconic songs of the first game but the rest are just as good, give them some love too. I know they remixed/covered some of them but it wasn't enough to offset Hangar

that and it felt like a few plot elements and stages were very, /very/ half life inspired

Soft bags help protect the bike and pannier racks in a fall, and are less likely to break a leg or something than a solid pannier. They also expand a little bit over the standard volume since the material is more flexible

what do people mean by "cold tires"? What is a cold tire?

Say I live in Florida, it's the morning and I'm getting ready to go to work. It's about 75 degrees out. Are my tires cold?

I'm always afraid to go at it when I first start out because I'm afraid my (possibly) cold tires will cause me to slide out

they are cold in the sense that the edges are not heated up, therefore more grippy. the center warms up easy because you're riding in a straight line (florida). if you want the edges warm, do some serpentine pattern.
>>
>>16116696
tyres at ideal working temp are like 70 degrees C

at least that's what you set the tyre warmers to.

"Cold" tyres means tyres at ambient temps.

bruh, don't worry about it. "cold tires" is just a meme people fall back on when they wreck. in reality, the reason for the crash probably had nothing to do with it.

yes, if you have cold tires, you might only be able to pull off a 45 degree lean angle instead of 60.

but that is pretty much the extent of it.

have had 3x wolfman soft bags on my dr650 for like six months now, done a bunch of trips on them. sorry but I really want hard bags now, soft bags are a pain in the ass.
>ten billion straps to undo if you want one thing
>shit gets jumbled because no structure
>not able to lock it
>more effort required to get them solid and secure on the bike

As far as safety goes, I think that only applies if you're doing long-way-round dirtbiking. If you crash at road speeds, well, you have a whole motorcycle falling on top of you, the panniers won't make much difference.

Hard bags are nice for all of those reasons, if you are commuting or road touring and made of money hard bags are probably a better option. It's when those aren't the case that the options get muddled.

I will say these only have 3 latches to undo to open them, and took me 10 minutes to put on altogether, similar time to remove them as well I assume. The issue with things getting jostled is the same with hard bags unless you have them full to the brim.

for general dashcam purposes it's not a problem whatsoever.

For aesthetic video side mount means 35% of the screen at any time is taken up by a helmet. Chin mount is the most realistic and cinematic in terms of putting you in the riders chair so to speak.

I wanna upgrade mine quite a bit, try an make it cozy, here in cali it's a pain in the ass to get a bike plated if it's not from the factory. Originally after the ninja I had wanted a typical 600 or somethin sporty, now going fast is eh, all about Sumos!

There's just pros and cons to them in my opinion, I've only owned 2 bikes so I have a very limited perspective.
Commuting pros
>Good mpg
>Great brakes
>good suspension for shitty roads
>Flicks around like its on skates
>Great for shitty weather
>very hoonable
Cons
>5 speed
>2x4 seat (fixeable)
>In the rain all the water piles to your crotch
>I've gotten it to 96 but it is not fun at highway speeds for any more than a short period of time
>The tank is about 1.8 gallons not including reserve. (fixable but ugly)

If I'm just going to work or class I prefer the Cuckly-Davidson
>>
>>16117241
wtf is that pic
>>
>>16117259
Well thanks I appreciate the info, even though it's a five speed theres still tons of performance mods that make it a bit tougher, luckily it rarely rains in cali, I'm not sure what's worse, a ninja 250 at highway speeds for more than 20 minutes, or a drz400 with some mods. My ninja is geared higher and only hits 96 on a good road, and even then it takes a good few minutes. I don't do highway for long anyway, everything is pretty close to me.

Sounds like a pretty solid choice, SM's are great for filtering, they're very narrow, the higher bars also help in that case. I've never ridden a ninja250 because I started on a sportster, but I'm sure a SM will destroy one in the twisties, they're a real blast when it comes to turns.

torque wrenches
socket wrench, extender, and a ton of sockets
vise grip

tire spoons

wire stripper

you can get by with these. beyond that, there are specialty tools like for lubing cables, bleeding brakes, balancing wheels, etc.

Plus crescent wrench isn't part of "metric sockets 8-16mm

Probably need a near 30mm socket for the upper steering stem nut and fork caps. Possibly specialty tools for swingarm preload and steering stem castle nuts.
>>
>>16117407
Two problems, one being shock will go up your ass instead of absorbed by shock absorbers. This is mitigated somewhat by the springer seat, a longer wheelbase would also help, but this one is short.

Two, the entire bike is "unsprung weight". When the rear hits a bump, the entire bike moves up, and will tend to continue moving up after the bump passes. You will experience this as the rear skipping and sliding over bumps. Bumpy or rippled turns become dangerous.

they whine, bitch, preach and moan about how they almost DIED today when a car passed them when they were biking in the middle of the ROAD (WHICH THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO BE IN ))):< ) and how they nearly DIED when they fell over on their bike and oh god the trauma the anxiety the PTSD oh dear poor me, I scraped a knee :((((

and they make such a big fucking deal about falling off their bikes, meanwhile I watch videos of people high/lowside their motorcycles at 40+ mph and they walk it off
>>
>>16117556
I kinda like that. The pipes are kinda too matte for the tank but they match the wheels

idk, i think for a motorcyclist about to go down your body has a chance to dump a bunch of adrenaline into your system. you know you are potentially fucked and your body gets a chance to respond. adrenaline obviously dulls your pain response for a while. for that bicyclist, he was just putting around in his spandex, probably zoned out and suddenly he found himself on his back with no warning and in a bunch of pain. i think this is probably why motorcyclists can crash at 50mph in shorts and a t shirt and as long as everything's still attached can bounce right back up and act like tough guys.

guaranteed they don't feel so tough getting the gravel scraped out of their shit 4 hours later or taking a shower the next day.

Being careful of cold tyres mainly just means don't gas it whilst leaned over coming out of the first corner after your driveway. And same with the brakes, don't slam the picks as soon as you hop on the bike. Street tyres should be up to normal temps within a few kms though, it's just something to keep in your mind when you seet out for the morning.
>>
>>16117713
keep in mind that i don't actually do any of that shit anymore. i am for the most part a socialized, law-abiding pussy. i'd rather not take the chance that they have a dash cam, a gun, good reaction time, etc. this is by far the safest thing to do though.

it's called good handling. light weight, ample power delivery to the wheel, good suspension, good chassis, good tires, good weight distribution. a bike with good handling is easy to steer where you want it to go and actually get there and can dance on the limit all day long like the "purgatory" zone between almost no risk and being on the ground is a mile wide when other bikes would just slide out and flip over.
