No. Takumi owned the smallest RWD Toyota could offer, and while I'd agree with you and the Ford, that'd make it an Escort. Mk2 specifically - the last RWD one, just like the AE86. Pic related.

American Takumi would specifically drive an SVO. It's the closest thing to a Trueno in that it's an assuming performance variant of a popular car. He'd deliver pizzas with it, since I have never heard of a burger delivery service. American Itsuki would mistakenly buy a base model Mercury Capri thinking it was the same as an SVO because they both have 2.3 engines.
American Nakazato would probably be driving the Corvette ZR-1, because much like the GT-R, the ZR-1 is one of the most powerful domestic sports cars available. Shingo would drive a Focus SVT.
While giving America's Takahashi brothers seems like the obvious choice, I feel like they would drive an S13/14 and be the only members of the cast who are serious about drifting. Since import cars are much more prevalent in America, it would make sense include characters that use them.
On a related note, Impact (Red, White &) Blue would be made up of two female Finnish exchange students who drive an E30. It's haphazardly spray-painted blue, and it has gold BBS wheels.

>Olds Toronado (the most FWD carmade in the USA to ever FWD)
>Taurus SHO

>FiST/FoST
The whole shtick of Dagumi's engine was always that it was n/a, even with the boosted competition around him. Therefore, it'd be either a Boss 302 or Nascar crate engine, built for 8K+ RPM operation. You can even have it cammed so hard Takumi doesn't even know how to treat it anymore.
>>16114362
both of those engine options would be stupid and overpowered

That's mainly because imports are significantly more expensive in Japan than they are in America. Maybe if it were set in the 70s or something, it wouldn't be unusual for there to only be American cars, but it'd be highly unlikely for there to be an underground street racing scene with nothing but domestic cars in the US.
