Sup /o/, what are you opinions on the Suzuki Samuai and do you think 5k is fair enough for a used '88 Samurai provided it's fairly modified and in pretty damn good condition?
Didn't take a picture of the one in specific, but this is close enough.

Sammy's in my area (Colorado) start at about $2500 (if it runs) and go up to $8-9000 if lifted, locked, winched, etc. 5 sounds decent if it runs well, has decent mods, and/or has low-ish miles (100k or nearby).

given the sheer age of it I think I might be able to talk him down to 2.5k if i pay him 50% up front in cash. I doubt it'll sell because my area is more jeep country so theoretically I feel my odds are good. shame I still have another tuition payment to make first.
speaking of mods, what's the strongest engine that could be mounted in one in regards to power/weight? the things are so light I could probably bench the front axle

>my area is more jeep country
>won't sell because of it
>will get lower price because of this
pretty much this. having a samarai would also make you look like you know your shit and not just following along with the herd. so if youc an find one, it's worth the extra 10% in repairs, parts, maintenance (due to difficulty of sourcing the odd part that doesn't fit your suz).
i'd do it bruv.

The most common engine swap is a 1.6L fuel injected 16v from a Sidekick or Geo tracker. Puts out about 92hp. With time, effort, and a little redneck engineering you can apparently fit a vortec 4.3 in there (but it ain't easy, I'm told).

Look into Mercedes turbo diesels. I'm looking for a Sammy and plan to drop a boosted diesel into it for dat torque and mpg when overlanding

>frame fades into the distance
