I spy with my little eye...
You spotted nothing of value.
I live near Honda's East Liberty plant and the Transportation Research Center.
We see camo cars all the time between Dublin and Marysville. They had an NSX mule on the road last winter, and a few protos running errands at Home Depot etc. TLXs, RDXs, CRVs etc.
It's too bad that Hondas are so bland in design. They could leave the camo off and you'd probably never notice the difference.

When I lived in Chicago working for Borg Warner I used to be all excited when I'd see mules or camo cars while in Detroit for meetings. Now it's like "meh". I don't see what makes people thing auto journalists are some great spy or somesuch. Just live near an R&D center.
I work at a Tier-2 now. A buddy of mine still works at Ford. Buy them a beer and it's amazing what they will share.
And we used to get competitor's prototypes for reverse engineering all the time, courtesy of the OEMs. I'm sure they did the same.
Very few secrets in the auto world. The supply chain is too deep.
