Not that great of fuel mileage, surprisingly heavy fur their size, can't put anything inside them
Literally a geo metro holds more and gets better fuel mileage and costs 700 dollars

they don't make any sense outside of european nations that allow you to park on the street by putting the front or rear end against the curb, instead of parallel parking. this is the only reason that the car exists.


Japanese Kei cars are better at being subcompcats than the Smart.

I think they make almost no sense in the US. I guess if you were in a tiny Euro city maybe, but a Fit is cheaper and does literally everything better, and is plenty tiny for city driving.

Pointless for 95% of the US
Maybe more useful for those that live in densely populated areas. Even then, something like a Yaris, iA, corolla, etc would be a much more practical choice

Costs more to fix than a BMW or a merc.

City cars Like the Chevy Matiz are more popular here. They can actually sit 4 people and isn't that slow if you drive alone.

It works well for the cramped areas of Europe, where more and more cars need to park streets idea in areas already too built-up and cramped to have parking lots. It might also work for urban drivers in densely populated cities like Chicago and New York, but ad soon as you get outside there, it's really pointless.

It is a city car, through and through.
