Should be. People got into trouble because employees from that one company that sent out cease and desist letters hopped on trackers and noted down IP addresses. Torrent sites have dwindled in popularity (what with kat and tpb being unusable for a while) and at least back then they only seemed to monitor torrents for recent movies and top 40 charts music etc. MotoGP should be pretty low risk. If you're paranoid, get a VPN, use private trackers or don't use torrents. And I'll sound like a cunt because of this but: don't seed popular torrents, just leech and get off the tracker ASAP to lower the risk of being caught. Only seed obscure shit.

Don't expect your friends to suddenly open up and have an heart to heart with you
Build up the relationship with them

Fuck, there must be one of them you've known for a significant amount of time
Try asking for advice, open up to others!
If you keep to yourself, if you go on alone you'll just turn into a cocoon of despair and self loathing

Stop having such a cynical outlook towards life, you'll end up only seeing the worst, ignoring every little good detail

So, I've been thinking about buying a new bike for next season, I've had a year on my 250, I'm getting a bit tired of it. Primarily because I want a cruiser, and also the thing is not in great condition and does not run very well.

I really fucking love the Indian Scouts, they are beautiful bikes. Could I handle an Indian Scout sixty after a year on a 250?

>>
>>16098571
Don't worry about it man.

I have many people who I consider "friends" and a handful of "very good friends" who would drop everything and do just about anything to help me out if I really needed it, and I'd do the same for them.

I'm dating this chick who's head over heels for me. She wants to be around me as much as possible, texts me good morning and goodnight and just randomly throughout the day when we're apart, comes to me for advice on things when she's feeling overwhelmed, etc. When we're alone she'll do pretty much anything I want to do sexually and has told me that I don't even have to ask, just do whatever I want with her because my dick "is always welcome in her".

I'm an only child and my parents provided me with a great home life growing up and have always been supportive of anything I've ever set out to do since graduating high school.

Despite all of that I still feel like killing myself multiple times pretty much every day. There are plenty of people with much shittier lives than mine who don't have compulsive thoughts of suicide daily, mental illness is something that comes from within and is only marginally affected by external factors.

I understand what you are saying, but at the same time that mentality itself is a fashion statement. Since riding a motorcycle in itself is a very dangerous thing to do. You should just not ride if you are that concern about safety.
>>
>>16098638
I'm sure you can handle it. There is always a little awkwardness going from one bike to another, but the Scout should be very relaxed. Indians seem like really nice bikes. From what I understand a lot of Indian owners are disgruntled Harley owners.

mechanical help please bros

So my downpipes were rusted to shit and had huge holes, so i bought some nice shiny new ones, fitted them all correctly (i think), replaced the exhaust gaskets (there actually weren't any used with the original rusted set). Reassembled the bike, started it up. Big change in the sound and volume of the engine, the tone is deeper and quieter.

Onto the problem - bike idles fine, choke on or off. As soon as I even touch the throttle the engine cuts out? literally it doesn't even rev at all, any throttle at all and the engine dies. revs climbed normally when I put the choke on? I initially thought it might be a kickstand switch thing so i sat on the bike with the kickstand up, but the issue remains.

what do

carbs. Before the downpipe change it was absolutely perfect, I rode it earlier today and there were no issues whatsoever. Presumably I fucked up somewhere putting the new pipes in / reassembling everything? I didnt go anywhere near the carbs... Of course slower than the race bikes, but i've seen a video of Rossi riding the new R1M (with probably slick) and he's at barely 4sec from the best lap times in WBSK, so imagine with a 326hp beast + slick + proper suspensions setting...

Let me ask you guys something: how mad does this make you?

I rode my straight piped GSXR today to the town hall and voted for Trump. Then I also voted NO for marijuana legalization.

I smoked a camel crush and then went home.
>>
>>16099368
probably not that well because it's ludicrously overweight compared to a motoGP or WSBK bike.

The stripped back H2R version weighs 215 kg wet according to kawi, it also doesn't have that much cornering clearance next to a motoGP bike.

Anyway, they made a race bike with H2R power in a straight line, it's called the GP16 and it's gone 361 km/hr down the straights.
>>

he made up some shit that he downshifted and lost control of the bike and the cops said, "yeah that makes sense." i wasn't there but he said he was at balance, then scraped his fender, looping it. this is the second wheelie crash with this bike he's had. first one i was there, but he was behind me, so i didn't see the crash, just him sliding out in front of me into an intersection. apparently he dropped it so hard, the forks bounced back up, and landed again with his front wheel tweaked, and high sided or something. he also got a citation for carrying 28 g's of weed.

Depends on the drivers, car, bike, track, weather, road surface and temp, air temp, and physics in general.

If you put two identically talented people on an r1 and a base corvette, the bike will lose time in every corner. I'd say an r1 can take a corner with about the same speed as a base model 2007 mustang gt with decent tires (not slicks)

>>16099973
Modern high-end cars like ferraris will always corner better and brake better than motorcycles. Motorcycles are faster in a straight line unless you drag race against ridiculously modified +1000hp machines.

>>16100090
untrue, you require downforce to take corners faster on cars and most production cars don't have much downforce.

Once you get to racing cars that have proper amounts of downforce it's game over though.
>>
>>16100090
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13jJnQxGUhQ

Here you go. For the record cars will always be slower unless its an f1 car.
>>

2009 fireblade ABS (yeah yeah, that's what the test ride is for). from the photos it looks clean and the guy is articulate and not nigspeaking me. some extras which he's probably going to try to sell me up on.

2008's with no ABS are going for around ~6.5k in my area. it does have really low miles though, only 7500.

i'm not sure if i should start with the lowball from the start (i highly doubt he's going to take it) or just basically say $7500 or i walk
>>
>>16100100

>>
>>16100116
Not my fault you can't watch a video. Race starts at 2:30, laptimes posted at 2:57
>>
>>16100100
Bruh as much as I would like for that to be true, it isn't. Any proper performance car is going to annihilate a motorcycle. They can brake later, take corners faster, and have bigger margins for mistakes. Comparing an R8 to a literal race bike is like comparing a S1000 XR to a P1. Yeah, it's fast, but it's a general purpose production machine not built specifically for the track like most liter bikes are
>>
>>16100112
I'd start at 7.25 and work up from there, I it's in the condition claimed, go up to what you think it's worth. I'd say 7.7 at most but trying to stay between that and 7.5

>>
>>16099973
With elite level driver/rider in both on a good track they will probably be relatively equal. With average enthusiast level drivers the car would probably win on a track because a car should be easier to manage and be more forgiving. However with average joes on the street a bike will probably win. Bikes are much narrower so they have more wiggle room on narrow mountain roads, and have more acceleration possible coming out of turns. Also supercar street drivers are just in it for the image and are too scared to hoon their precious wedgemobiles.

I probably am. I don't really want a Ninja 250, however that is where I am looking.

What I'm not looking for are
>dirt bikes
>"needs work"
>not running
>project bike
>vespas/scooters/motorized bicycles
>trikes

I'm not really looking for ninjas, but it seems to be one of few bikes available in my area that isn't a total shitmobile, but I just don't like the look of them.

Pic related, I've hidden 50 postings of the greentext above.

on the other hand it recommends genuinely fast bikes like large displacement parallel twins

i wouldn't say every inline four is peaky, that every ptwin is predictable, that every fully faired sporty bike is difficult to handle in a corner, or that the two year old SV650 with no ABS you're looking at has worse/safer brakes than the 90s GSXR with ABS that you totally should not buy

i would say that riding a sporty motorcycle can put less mature riders in a mindset where they make more mistakes by trying to "get their money's worth", or that too much power period can get irresponsible people in more trouble than a ninja 300

i would say that you should start on a GS500 over a ninja 500 and avoid a fucking ninja 650 of all things like the plague. i would put emphasis on weight, height, conventional ergonomics (throttle response included), not being carbed, and total available power over the engine configuration.

and i would make a point to tell people to not let chicken strips and dank woolies memes get to their heads

your 650 will beat pretty much any sports car under $120k from a rolling start up to ~80mph. would you set a brand new driver loose in a corvette with no traction control? with cars you can at least lose the front a little bit. if you toss the front or break the rear loose at the wrong time you're going to be hurting on a bike.

beginners should be on 250s

It's not hard. The newer ones have less issues; every year IMZ makes changes based on rider reports so unreliable parts get upgraded on newer models.

The bike is simple, like 1938 simple. I didn't know how to wrench before but now I've got a decent amount in and I've learned a lot about carburetors. The forums are also full of 65 year old guys who know these bikes inside and out and can answer any problem with a step by step guide, or direct you to one. That support makes owning it one a lot easier.

I'm not shilling the GS500 but I'm saying get a GS500

>>
>>16100971
If the zipper doesn't match, you make an adapter by having your mother sew matching zippers to a web belt (no buckle). The zippers are standard sizes and often come with the jacket and pants, or you can buy them at craft and sewing stores.
>>
>>16100999
On the other hand, you're going to eventually burn oil every freeway trip as the odometer climbs and regular oil checks are not something anyone should have to get familiar with out of necessity.

You do want to sell the bike in great condition to the next person that wants one. So you do want to buy a bike that's appropriate for the riding you're going to do. Get a 250 if you live in the city center or something. Just not if you live far out of the city and need to take a 75mph interstate to go to work, school, or a road that's not consantly covered in horse crap.

>>
>>16101005
>You do want to sell the bike in great condition to the next person that wants one
so don't crash it. as long as you do anything south of blowing the motor or completely wrecking it, there is someone who will pay almost exactly what you paid for it... if you buy it used like you should be.

i rode my little EX250 for three years as a daily driver. commuting on the highway every day and since it was LA -- where cops seem to give the slightest shit they possibly can about 100mph joyrides -- it invariably included a protracted run at or near as close to redline as i could push the little fucker in full tuck with a tailwind. the bike lived and i sold it for $200 less than i bought it.

of course I've ridden a 250, I'm wondering if you've ridden a 650 because you seem to think they've got CVT gearboxes or something.

>throttle control, clutch control, rev matching

Let's flip it.

>throttle control

Learn better on a 650 because the throttle actually does something so you need to actually sometimes have it not pinned, more capable of breaking traction = more learning!

>clutch control
>rev matching

650s produce more backtorque/engine braking and will float the rear wheel under braking much more readily because of that, this means you need to be more careful when downshifting (slipping the clutch, revmatching perfectly etc.)

See what i mean? those points are stupid and can go either way, I don't think either a 250 or a 650 is going to teach shifting any better than the other.
>>
>>16101057
>this means you need to be more careful when downshifting (slipping the clutch, revmatching perfectly etc.)
Or just enjoy ending up sideways, which I prefer.
>>
>>16101057
>that last point

If motoGP racers of all people are running with slipper clutches, beginners should make sure to get them as well
>>
>>16101057
a 250 teaches you with more frequency than a 650 does for our established talking points. when you mess any of it up, it does so more forgivingly. the point is not for a beginner bike to react like a final dreambike or whatever. the point is to help new learners learn the fundamentals which they should have 100% completely down pat before they even consider moving up in displacement.

even a ninja 250 will break the rear loose at steep enough lean.

honestly though you should start on a 150cc 2stroke shitbike, it's a no brainer

>throttle control

zero engine braking and no engine lubrication without throttle means you have to have impeccable throttle control to avoid seizing your shitbike

> clutch control, rev matching

narrow powerband means that you have to be very capable of rev matching
>>
>>16101077

Wait, why are you starting on a 150? are you a madman?

>Cagiva mito 125
>7 speed gearbox so 1 extra learning
>even less power and an even smaller powerband than 250cc 4 strokes so you're really gonna learn how to shift gears!

I feel sorry for all you plebs who started on 250s you'll simply never know how to ride properly. : ' (

wow, I bet you get really proficient at shifting up and down

surely you should be starting on something smaller though, I was just using the 150 as an example (I'm not that curaazey). I started on this 50cc Spacey from the 80s and I consider myself a master of shifting up and down in both CVT and traditional clutchtransmissions
