reservoir is full can't find any visual leaks

master cylinder?

bad master cylinder
go fix it

old rubber brake lines

Could just be the vacuum to the booster. Or may be the booster itself. Good to see everyone jumps to condemn the booster right away on an automotive board....

Well, what the fuck was it?
You interrupted my lunch break to reply. The least you could do is give an update.
Check Brake lines for leaks or air, Master cylinder for leaks on booster and near brake pedal, ABS Pump for leaks, and condition of Hydraulic oil.

A bad booster would make the pedal hard with no power assist

Squishy pedal is either a leaking master, or air in the lines.
Brake warning light is designed to trigger at low fluid level. If you have one, but the fluid level is correct, the float sensor might be stuck, or the gasket on the brake fluid reservoir cover got blown out, and is pressing on the floaty.
What color is the fluid?
Look for leaks at the back of the master
Look at each brake line for any leaks, or leaks off the calipers.

Not in the normie definition of their pedal.
