Who is everyone with, with insurance?
How much do you pay monthly?
What is your excess?
Type of insurance?

I was quoted from my bank for the Landcruiser $64/month for full comp. Covered for $18k, excess is $1000 because i am under 25 but i do have mu fulls.
>>
>>16096453
The E30 is a future classic, apparently. A couple of Kiwis I talk to reckon it'll only be going up in price now, though $15,500 for a 318i is pretty absurd.

To our boomer friend's credit it does look to be pretty clean. Too clean to be something you'd just want to offload. Perhaps the missus wants him to get rid of it and knowing what he's got is the best way to hang onto it.
>>
>>16096473
Is that good? I have never had insurance before, but sometimes is a bit hard to stop 3 tonnes and if some clown pulls in front of me at the lights chances are they are going through them.

The E30 is a future classic yes (keyword being future) but this is a 318, the base model. The most basic and most common model. He's asking almost $10,000 over what it's actually worth. I've seen mint 320s go for $6,000 in the same condition.

decent price, non original door cards but everything else is tidy, not been messed with, kms are a little high
For 14k that would be a decent buy

Friend picked one up for 7 the other day in not great mechanical condition with 250k kms

Going rate now is 10-15 depending on condition. Rapidly heading north of that.

325is is 30k now compared to 10-15k 2 years ago
>>
>>16096587
Bullshit, I see 318s going for 5k or less. There's one for 2k just a few streets away from me in decent and working condition.

>15k for non-original door cards, non-OEM head unit, non-OEM seats fitted, non-OEM wheels

It's worth 8k at best but realistically about 7k.

>totally different engine
>stiffer lower shocks and springs
>sway bars from 325i
>different seats, roof lining, door cards
>painted bumpers and different front lip
>battery in boot
>bigger brakes
They were also only made for less than a year and are rather rare, especially now
318i doesn't have enough power to get out of its own way, 318is beats a 325i around a track
>>
>>16096625
While I agree the E30 is a classic and is a valuable car, this is a fucking 318. If it was a 323 or 325 or M3 then those prices are justified but a 318? Shit no.

I have a few through Shannons and a few through AAMI. I pay mine all anually, but the breakdown are as follows;

>Rolls Royce
Shannons, Third Party, $350~ish p.a. excess of $1000
>Maloo
Shannons, Full Comp, $1124p.a, $500 excess
>XB Coupe
Shannons, Full Comp (but limited driving plan, it's a club car), $2700~ish p.a, have no idea about the excess (pretty sure it's $1000, I'd have to check)
>VY SS
AAMI, Comp, $765 p.a, $500 excess
>XJR1300
AAMI, Comp, $300~ish p.a, $500 excess.

Best thing to do is shop around and get quotes for everywhere though mang, and always read the fine print. Some insurers are incredibly difficult getting anything out of while others are pretty good.

Yeah dude, I'm fine with telling. Fuck, I'm fine with showing it, but last time I asked if anyone wanted pictures no one replied. Both the Rolls and the Coop are under covers at opposite ends of the house, so it takes a bit of effort to get them out.

It;s insured for $65k, long story short. It's just an old 500 with a 393C stroker in it with some GT bits and pieces (dash, grill, etc), but she's still my pride and joy. She'll be stripped after Xmas and getting a new paint job, it's still a hideous Sea Foam green from when I bought it off the previous owner a few years back. If I didn't have it under club rego with limited driving condition I would have been raped by Shannons even more.

If anything, the next purchase will be a Mini Moke in good nick. That was my first car I ever owned, but I sold it like a little dumb ungrateful shit because all my 'mates' said it was a fag car. I've really got to suss out my collection and figure out why there's no rhyme nor rhythm to it.

Mr Waleed Aly

Waleed awakens in his ivory tower and peruses a room full of suits. He ponders today’s garbs as he tries to pick the suit that screams, “most successful Gold Logie winner, Islamic TV personality and ethnic trailblazer on a prime time slot, of all fucking time”. Navy blue, bingo.

His left hand is itching to pull down Australia’s dacks and give it a good self righteous spank on its ignorant arse. Without his 3 minute summaries of obvious issues, the nation would go down the gurgler. He knows this, he needs this.

Sadly for Waleed, it’s his day off. So he agrees to spend time with some work colleagues in a bar setting. He knows he is needed to keep things P.C while his colleagues are having an infi-hell of a time.

One of Waleed’s work colleagues approaches the bar and orders a double Jack & Coke. An ominous feeling of unease overcomes him as he looks to his left, and spots Waleed staring at him like a Velociraptor peering through the underbrush , “gone for a double mate? OK”.

Satisfied with the social judgment he cast, Waleed returns to the table to interrupt another colleague’s Tinder story, “hey, hey, boys, easy, I’m sure we can do without the details of her breast size, yeh?”.

Everyone at the table feels as nervous as a losing horse around a glueless trainer at a Melbourne Cup arts & crafts party. To appease Waleed, the camera guy proposes a toast to positive, Islamic role models, but in the process knocks over a glass.

Waleed ocularly scorns him like a Woolworths’ vegan would look at a man trying to redeem a coupon for caged eggs. Everyone knows whats coming. They are about to be monologue’d. Waleed leans forward and like the soap boxer he is, lands a left hook:

“Alcohol, we all drink it, but do we need it?” Waleed smugly states as proceeds to tell everyone alcohol can be harmful for the next 3 minutes. He finishes his no-shit-Sherlock sermon by making a special request:
>>
“so to prevent you from harming yourselves and others how about we all try something right now, #giveyourkeystoWaleed, seriously guys, keys, now”.

No one dares disobey the Minister of Monologues, the Sultan of Shit-eating Summaries, the Lord of Lowest Common Denominator “News” Segments. Even the sober drivers will be taking an Uber home because if Waleed said it, it must be true.

With a pocket full of car keys, Waleed heads home. On his way he spots a “Fuck Off We’re Full” sticker on an SS Ute. Not on Waleed’s watch. He forces the Ute off the road, and when the driver regains consciousness, all he sees is Waleed's angelic head hovering over him.

“Mate, racism, we all hear it, but do we need it? #givethestickertoWaleed”

I dunno man, good condition GTT's are a real joy.
Bad condition, high km's and 'mods' are a bit of a no-go unless you're willing to go over it with a very fine tooth comb.
At that age and range, even if it was being babied a bit you'd be looking at wheel bearings, synchros being shitty, sloppy linkages to the gearbox, brakes will be a bit shithouse, clutch will be a bit fucked, probably quite a few rubbers and bushings being ratshit.

Its all fixable, its not usually expensive, but people often don't do it- because they're lazy and mechanically incompetent cunts.
Now, its been modified... this is not necessarily a good/bad thing. If its done well then you're fine, if they did it with micky mouse shit from china they bought off ebay, its more fucking trouble to get rid of it and put something actually good in there!

Its a fixer-upper

GTiR's can a real moneypit, lot of proprietary parts in both the chassis, suspension, panels and especially the engine.
Some you can borrow off Silvias and Pulsars of the same era, but there's a lot in them which doesn't belong to anything but the GTiR.

Don't go into one without a big lump of cash and be prepared to hunt around for some bits.

Its a bit of a spent force isn't it... I mean, most of that stuff you can go research yourself if you really want to do some kind of whack engine swap or what not. But most of their stuff is a bit more oriented towards 'Entertainment' rather than informational at this point.

There's a tonne of stuff they could do which doesn't cost a fortune and fucking heaps of cunts dunno how to do it-
>How to pick wheels for you car, explain offsets etc
>How to change a tyre off your wheel and patch a hole in it
>Do a basics of how to spot/listen for potential problems

non dole bludger here, i don't understand centerlink. seriously.

they'll happily pay people shekels, but you can't put that money towards a mortgage (which would make you less dependent on centerlink in the long run)

so basically, you have a bloke who works full time, economy goes to shit and he's out of work for say 3 months. dude's not a bludger, he's actively looking for a job...centerlink won't fucking pay him and will instead want him to sell his fucking house?!?

so he loses his house and thus becomes trapped in the fucking cycle of renting again...like it seems so fucking dumb to me.

i hope this never happens to me, but i wonder about some of those people working at ford/holden who can't get new jobs after the fact.

why can't centerlink just fucking pay them anyway while they look for a job, which would let them continue to make mortgage payments (somewhat) and thus not be on centerlink for the rest of their lives.

The economy is actually fucked, has been since the recession. It's being propped up by the banks and the housing "bubble" here.
We literally produce nothing and there's no money being made in technology like America.

its just fucking dumb. like if they had a brain they could help people AND spend less.

instead we get people being fucked AND they spend too much on welfare.

it's not about spending money, it's about spending it smart.

how do they not get this?

also, i feel sorry for you young people. they actually are trying to get you working for 2 dollars an hour on some of these programs. insane.

Any chances of us getting that gt350R mustang that almost won best drivers car?

Hi friends

Newfriend here.

Currently looking at the links but if anyone has additional tips i would appreciate it.

Looking at buying my first car, on my green P's and have about 10 thousand dollarydoos to spend.

Any advice on an automagic that has all the meme features like a maxima but is a bit smaller?

Something that generally comes with a tow bar also would be a plus.

Also any suggestions of dealers that wont rip me off too much in the SE QLD area.

>straight base onto clearcoat
It would be risky
Often you'd get a problem where the basecoat drying unevenly will rip up the clear and cause it to crackle. Also you might also get a situation where the base reacts chemically with the clear and causes it to do the same.
If you've got time, do a test piece
>>
>>16107383
I wish I could do that with my V6 for a reasonable price.

I have a dream of building a racetrack to the scale of nür. Only thing holding me back is the cost of the land, I might as well make a farm out of it and the roads will probably only be gravel or limestone.
One day I might invite you cunts.
>>
>>16107393
woops, left out a big detail.
its not a true clearcoat on my car but a single stage.
id be doing the same with a single stage over this, potentially a few layers of primer.
>>
>>16107431
Is that a serious problem?

You could probably say something negative about every car.
>>
>>16107417

>>
>>16107440
>a single stage.
Ah! yes that is a big difference.

Lot of the single-stage paints are a fair bit softer than a clearcoat and generally a bit of a shit. However, if you're good enough to level it with a sanding job, it should* have enough porosity to stick a base to it. Anywhere that gets a bit thin or is kind of shitty you might want to put some primer over, then sand back and apply paint.

Like I said, do a test piece under the bonnet or boot somewhere no one will notice if you're in doubt.
>>
>>16107296
Assuming it's an ej motor/trans that the liberty has too? disable the awd and get some maccas trays on the rear wheels
>>
>>16107447
yeah thats the plan m8.
more than likely i will apply primer filler over the heavily scuffed topcoat, sand that then apply the two stage.
I have a few panels i practice on but have never done a single stage before, only two stage.
>>
>>16107464
Yep I think most major manufacturers stopped using single back in the late 90s, its generally a bugger to try and match a single to repair damage and it'll oxidise and fade over time which changes the colour from what it was. Particularly reds and blues, they're a nightmare.

But, covering it all over solves a lot of that.

My 07 MPS is blowing white smoke whilst idling in traffic. Its been doing this the last week. I've been told by several sources that my turbo seals are shot. Where are some good turbo repair/reconditioning places in Sydney?

Initial googling suggests that MTQ in Wetherill Park is what im looking for.

inb4 new turbo. I don't have $2K+ to spend. Trust me, I would if I could.

>>
>>16108082
White smoke isn't turbo seals is it? Anyway if you're positive it is seals, check a wrecker for a second handy first, if you can't, go to your local import workshop, they'll rebuild your turbo for a decent price, it'll still set you back quite a bit

Another for E series manual

My one is real fun to drive, maxes out the speedo easily. But my one has over 400k km on the body.

EA-ED are slightly rust prone, EF/L aren't as bad

Easy to work on, cheap parts, can handle alright with minimal effort/work
