Fanatec is a complete meme. They make alright pedals that are a little overpriced.

Honestly, with OSW being maybe a grand and still falling, you'd have to be retarded to buy clubsport. Some chink will make a motor controller that costs 300 bucks with a PSU eventually and completely gut the market.

Entry level, get a cheap second hand T500, T300 or T150 depending on your budget, and do a 10 dollar brake mod with a conical bit of rubber and a drill. The G27 and assorted clones really aren't a step up from the DGFT in any appreciable way, and the shifter is a waste of time. You could build an adapter to usb for around 5 bucks and use the shifter stand-alone if you really wanted, or if you knew how to code you could probably interpret the G920 shifter with an arduino and output it to clone the thrustmaster stand-alone one, I think they're both potentiometer based so it might not even be that difficult.

What ghetto mods have you done to fix your setup?

For me, the biggest was adding paddles to my DFGT. I say paddles, but they're more like extenders made out of fucking PCI-E brackets zip tied to the central column and covered with hot glue. Feels so much nicer to have to have them at my fingertips instead of having to reach in. I've also wrapped bungee cords around the pedals and put foam in the brake, but nothing can fix those shitty things.

The DFGTs are so weak it'd be impossible to break your arms on them. But because they're weak and the motor is undervolted as fuck, there's really nothing to go wrong aside from the gears wearing, which will probably take a decade of near constant use, even longer if you bother opening them up for a bit of grease every couple of years.

E46 does have it's advantage with it's price but in my opinion it does look bit outdated.
And it is lacking in the power department.
evo is the easiest to get power but unreliable, 335i can pull +450hp with e85 and jb4 relatively safe, and thats only 1k€.
E92 M3 looks best hands down but is so damn expensive. I really can't decide lads.

The old forums at isiforums.net as well as the private beta forums are both getting a new home. Technically we have moved our forum software from vBulletin to XenForo, but we’ve spent a lot of time to ensure that this migration was done without loosing any posts or user accounts.
Looking ahead our next steps will be to extend the website, adding more information for new users as well as making sure we have good documentation both for users and people interested in modding rFactor 2 in any way (building tracks, cars, writing plugins, painting cars, etc.).
