Also my radiator loses water. I've had it pressure and leak tested and it's all good yet still loses water. I see a lot of white smoke come out the exhaust sometimes, usually when idling in park. What's going on here?

I had brown grainy shit around the radiator cap and in the coolant reservoir of a car I bought and I was preparing to replace the head gasket (V8 and bought cheap so not the end of the world) but it was running fine and I went ahead and did an oil change on it, all normal. Then I noticed that the radiator was leaking. Turns out it was some radiator stop-leak that the PO had put in. Much cheaper repair than the head gasket I was happy.
