ND Miata isn't as bloated as the NC, it's a good choice. Convertibles are pointless but for the lack of better options you can just slap a hardtop on it.
Also, modern murrican cars are decent. Design is a bit questionable (whose aren't?), but they don't have solid rear axle anymore and the engines aren't unrepairable european mess.They basically don't exist outside of the US, although Chevrolet actually ships Camaros officially to my country which is appreciated. I don't know why though since hp tax per year will be bigger than most of the population monthly income. I'd say anything above 250 hp is unattainable due to tax.
So yeah, ponycar or Miata.
