Why do sports cars always have rock hard suspension?
To reduce body roll and keep all 4 wheels firmly planted on the ground at any given time. Which for a performance car is good, for obvious reasons

this.
there you go, end of thread.
To tack onto this, I've seen a lot of butthurt denial from people saying "soft cars can handle too" which is true up until you start to get increased weight transfer and body roll. It's like they're defending how their Z32 can handle "even though it's soft"
Listen, it doesn't matter if it's hard or soft. What matters is that you can use the full potential of the car. Unless you are racing someone. Then there is a perfect amount of stiffness under the right circumstances.

To be fair, to some extent body roll can help a car turn. Super stiff anti-roll bars are likely to induce heavy understeer and less ability to really throw the car about, though that's better for a track environment.
To improve performance
Hard suspension has its uses. What's worse are unnecessary rock hard seats. Hardness doesn't automatically translate to support. In fact I've seen Mercedes luxury seats that were more supportive than the average modern sporty shitbox's rock hard seats.

What the fuck do you think the purpose of a sports car is? Performance and/or driver dynamics, neither of which are accomplished with a mushy suspension.
>>16065556
My assumption is that most all "sports cars" that are produced never see the situations that I am talking about so they fall into the category of "racing themselves" whether they like it or not.

There's a middle ground between treating a car as an appliance and going full boyracer

It's a pigfat, AWD automatic computer-driven shitpile. Even this stupid forced meme aside there's nothing sports car about it.
They don't.
See 944 body roll.

ha love your plate

except that's not how suspension works. if it's rock hard (i.e. stiff springs), it doesn't respond as well to bumps as softer springs.

It's a supercar

Spring rate and stiffness aren't the same thing

What a stupid question.

the 944 wasn't a sport's car. It was a grand tourer . Meant to be comfy and stylish
