Literal front wheel drive with a wheelie bar. How dumb can people get?
is this a /o/ humor thread?
>>16051022
great bait you tard... the front tires have more grip when the wheelie bar stop the rear suspension compression
Do you not understand how cars work?
>launch car
>weight gets shifted backwards and downwards as car accelerates
>this transfers weight, and therefore traction, away from the driven wheels
The bar prevents the back end from dipping down, keeping the weight of the car from moving as much, and keeps the front wheels planted to the ground.

>there are people this stupid on /o/
>>16051022
>It's an anon doesn't understand physics episode
this got me thinking. if you removed the rear wheels, were able to make a strong enough wheelie bar to support the weight, and angled the car; would there be less weight shifted towards the rear? pic related

That wont put more weight on the front wheels
>>16051236
assuming youre not trolling:
No, you're thinking of the weight transfer as an actual physical thing, the videos of water moving back and forth isnt whats happening in your car. it's force that's moving, and it doesnt matter the shape of the object, if it accelerates, there will be more downforce in the back than in the front, the only way to counteract this is to put more weight in the front, but then you run into other issues like low rear grip in braking leading to snap oversteer.
>>16051236
It would probably work
>>16051067
Changing the suspension sound easier thought plus you still have a street looking cars
why put a wheelie bar ? Cheaper ?

>WAT Racing's newest drag car design
>>16051248
Wich doesn't matter on a dragstrip so it's fine
>>16051236
I made a modification to your design. The front part is driven in drive, and the car in the back is driven in reverse.
You'd need two drivers but it'd be worth it.
>>16051278
It would just be AWD thought
>>16051278
Forgot my pic
>>16051277
Yeah, drag cars do have ballast in the front, but it only works to an extent, otherwise youre just dragging extra weight for negligible gains.
>>16051287
That drawing makes me want to punch a ladder, holy fuck

Why don't we have a WAT scholarship fund for moments like these ? these young men need to get their ideas out there

Thanks for the one word response without a correction, that really shows your intelligence.
i was simplifying the answer you jackass, he already doesnt understand the concept theres no reason to make it harder for him to grasp
>>16051022
It's to keep the weight from shifting to the back of the car, that being said, I doubt it's installed correctly for it to actually work.
>>16051236
>>16051303
LMAO

>>16051287
You guys are taking the wrong approach to this. If the rest of the car isn't squatting, then you just link the rear of the car to the rest of it
>>16051299
They could have some front spoiler that open like a drs at speeds
At start the weight would shit back still but past 50 kph that could be usefull
>>16051248
now, if we mounted the engine on an acute angle would that better help drive the wheel into the ground, as to say "dig in"?, and disperse the weight more favorably; away from the rear?
INTRODUCING CRISTON HON ASSFUCKERS NEW INVENTION
okay so in a RWD car, the front lifts, so I made the front low to counter this
And in a FWD "car" the back digs, which we don't want this time so the back is high
also has camless engine
Guys, i've had an idea.
You know how the original quattro had the engine really far forward of the front axle and this made it understeer a bit?
What if we took out the rear driveshaft and made it FWD?
It'd have tons of grip

3d render
>>16051365
ive quickly realised the error of my ways; on a hard launch the car may flip it self due to lack of proper weight distrubution
a second wheelie bar is in order

I can't breath /o/ this is my end
what about instead of having a chassis or body or anything you just have a compressed spring
When the lights go green you press the accelerator which is actually just a pin holding the spring compressed and then your car expands a quarter mile at the speed of light
What if we mount the engine way out in front of the car to keep as much weight forward as possible, and the driver operates the throttle directly with two levers (pull left lever to reverse, pull right lever to accelerate)

tha scion isnt stock suspension and the wheelie bar was put on because it was needed. You could dial up the rear suspenion all the way to avoid pulling wheelies, but the lessened amount of compliance in the rear suspension may result in the slicks being easier to smoke off of the line, with the wheelie bar, the rear can squat a minute amount and aid in forward traction, but the bar can stop any further movement being wasted as a squat into forward propulsion

Go that looks like an fwd motorcycle at that point.
