What's a better choice for a project car to wrench on? Wants:
>Good steering and handling
>Adequate power (would turbo either)
>Not planning on track days
I would be OK with either.

What's your budget?
Dont get a FWD shitbox.
That should narrow it down for you...
idk but i like the civic eg more

$10k-$12k including mods

For an NA Miat I would get:
>FMII turbo kit
>Full suspension
>BBK / upgraded brakes
>Wheels and tires
>New seats and steering wheel
>aero bits
>fixed hard top
I would assume I could pull all that off for $12k
>>16050885
Yeah that would be doable. I would go on the Miata on this one.
p.s. buy a roll bar

Could I mod a Civic to handle as well as a Miata on the street for similar cost?
>>16050926
A clean Civic will cost more than an NA Miata. Turbo kits are harder to come by and will most likely take more customization.Meaning it will cost more. As far as handling goes yes you can get a Civic to handle just as good as a Miata. They weigh about the same, When gutted with a proper suspension setup they handle amazingly.

>handle as well as a Miata
That's not so trivial

Tell that to the dozens of nationally competitive Honda autocrossers.
