Actually I suppose I should say unrelated.
Talked to the guy who owns it, he has three more. Such a kickass car.

That doesn't even make sense. Stay btfo
The old 4l motors and that 5.2 were pretty bulletproof. I had one of each go well over 300k miles when I sold them and I am not easy on vehicles.
Actually engines are the only thing GM know how to build. It's the cars surrounding them that are complete heaps of garbage.

What are you basing Ford off of when they make this list. Chev > Ford for pick up trucks with my experience
>>16044606
no kidding, when i worked at a garage all GM trucks were was the odd fuel pump and trans cooler line. Fords are timing chain issues especially on the cube vans, breaking 2-piece spark plugs, water pumps, and coilpacks

I was thinking more on engine longevity. In my experience Ford's break down less (if at all) but at the cost of a shittier interior than Chevy. While Chevy's have pretty much everything breakdown after warranty.
Never owned a truck, not a manual laborer sorry.
Can I nominate an engine based on the recalls and frequency of major service required?
It has to be the 1.6 turbo "Prince" engine used in the G2 Minis. We have already spent $2000 on ours in 6 years. Fucking French shitheads.

even the light cars are a pain. Ford Escape are alternator issues up the ass, Taurus are timing cover seal leaks which are a nightmare to do, Focus make a creak or rattle from everything and anything, windstar vans blow torque converters like a hooker
thank god everyday i left the trade, i can name common issues for every manufacturer out there lol
>buick not being in the most reliable list?
Almost every one of them was near bulletproof!

I owned both a mustang and focus and I never even had an oil leak. I guess it's maintenance really, I'm absolutely anal about keeping my cars in tip top shape for the 2gays and shitty backroads.
I own a Tahoe now though (I suppose you can count that as a truck, but it's an SUV still) and it seems like the suspension wore out really fast with moderate usage. Engine is a powerhouse though.
