gotta say, technically you put the LEAST worn on the front for better traction for steering, and better traction in bad weather conditions. So if you rotate correctly you will wear 2 at a time faster than the other two (rear). So basically you replace the same amount of tires within the same time span, but will buy them in pairs, seperatly. Rather then all for at once, and you will have safer handling. So same cost, same duration for a set of four, and safer handling with least worn on front. There are the other methods like pic related, but that's mostly for long longevity.
